Four years later, and we are still at it pumping out jerky reviews. We purchased the domain name www.jerkyingredients.com way back in 2011. After years of procrastination, I finally got this jerky review web site up and running in January 2014. Foolishly, I borrowed the jerkyingredients.com domain name to track our various NFL football pools before starting this jerky review web site, which still confuses Google Analytics to this day.
This jerky review web site has been a constant evolution, always trying to slowly improve. There was a time when we were intent on starting our own jerky company. After spending countless hours of research, plus many thousands of dollars, we eventually gave up on the idea of starting a jerky company. Neither my cousin Paul nor I were willing to make that leap of faith, and quit our full-time jobs. More importantly, our wives were dead set against the idea of starting a jerky company. Hence, we started a jerky review web site instead.
The future for 2018 and beyond is very promising. Four years later, and we currently have a jerky submission freeze in place in order to get caught up. That is the best possible problem scenario for us to be in. Worth noting and exciting news is that going forward, the jerky reviews will be written by my co-worker Stéphane Leclerc. Stéphane has proven to have a flair and passion for writing jerky taste reviews, and based on feedback, jerky makers emphatically agree.
