This marks our first published post regarding the price of bacon jerky. Unlike beef jerky, where the price of beef jerky is updated annually, bacon jerky price updates were introduced in 2017. While I have been harping about the increased price of beef jerky since 2022, the price of bacon jerky has steadily increased in price even more and longer.
In the process of finding 300 beef jerky makers for the 2022 and 2023 Beef Jerky Price Updates, we started noting what jerky makers also sell bacon jerky, among other types of jerky. In this 2023 update, we compiled 21 different bacon jerky makers across Canada and the USA. All jerky makers in this update sell bacon jerky in bags of 1.5 to 4 ounces. Bacon jerky is more expensive than beef jerky and therefore is usually sold in smaller sizes to not scare away customers from the price of bacon jerky.
In this 2023 bacon jerky update, the price of bacon jerky increased by 50 cents. Since 2017, the price of bacon jerky has been closing in on doubling in price.
