Few things in life are game changers. Growing up, I often used the term the greatest thing since sliced bread. Over my lifetime, the game changers for me have been the personal PC introduced in 1977 (I loved DOS), the Internet (1996 using the Lynx text-based web browser (Netscape could be considered a game changer before Microsoft Explorer destroyed them)), email, the chat website ICQ, and artificial intelligence in November 2022 with the launch of ChatGPT. Within five days of its release, over a million users had signed up for ChatGPT, and today, it boasts over 180 million users.
When ChatGPT was first launched, it lacked Internet access, but this changed with its September 2023 release. Now, the days of ChatGPT responding with “no information found” are over, which is particularly useful for finding niche information like details on a small craft jerky maker. Despite the advancements, I believe there are still many improvements to come.
One thing I will not engage in is conversation with ChatGPT. While potentially helpful, their answers are biased. Chatting with ChatGPT feels creepy and demonic to me. I tend only to give instructions to ChatGPT, e.g., describe this jerky brand from city, state/province www.jerkybrand.com
There are two ways to ask ChatGPT how to describe a jerky maker. One is from scratch. Two, you write the best jerky brand introduction possible based on your research and then ask ChatGPT to improve it. Pre ChatGPT, a fair amount of time went into writing the description of a jerky brand, piecing together emails and information. Using ChatGPT can add to the time it takes to write a jerky brand introduction.
We review two types of jerky: big-brand jerky and craft jerky. Using Costco’s Kirkland’s Signature brand as an example, they have nothing to do with jerky, having some big private labeler make the jerky on their behalf. Regarding Kirkland’s Signature, I have no qualms about asking ChatGPT to describe this brand from scratch, which saves so much time.
One thing a chatbot likely will never be able to do is describe a taste. I have experimented with asking ChatGPT to improve a taste review. ChatGPT takes way too many liberties in describing the taste without any basis. Paul and Stéphane detested the ChatGPT version of their taste reviews as inaccurate, exaggerated, and unnatural sounding.
Those interested in trying out ChatGPT, open the following URL.
Click on “Log in” if you have an existing account, or click on “Sign up” if you want to create one. For a new account, choose an email address to use. Create a password. An email will be sent to your account. Click on the Verify email address button from that email. ChatGPT will ask for your name and birthday. Then you are good to go. Ask ChatGPT anything to your heart’s content.
ChatGPT is far from the only AI chatbot out there. As of today, ChatGPT’s standard chatbot is still free. There are exciting features of ChatGPT that cost money to subscribe to.
There are unknowns with artificial intelligence. Will AI destroy humanity? Will AI replace most jobs? Is AI sentient? Will AI save the world?
A popular trend with AI is to ask it to write a poem. This poem captures the essence of www.jerkyingredients.com and what we are trying to do with jerky reviews.
