It took us nearly nine years to review 300 jerky distributors. Normally, the jerky manufacturer is also the jerky distributor. It is not uncommon to see private labelers manufacture jerky. Some jerky distributors have multiple jerky brands, and in some cases, many jerky brands. Back in 2010 – 2012, it was the distribution that killed our chances of launching our jerky brand. We could not put forth a valid business plan, which of course, includes stores to distribute our jerky. No regrets, as our wives were against the idea, we both had full-time jobs and making jerky is a lot of physical work.
