Mike’s Meaty Jerky was established in 2021 and was founded by Mike, whose passion for beef jerky began in childhood. He fondly recalls making homemade beef jerky with his father, cherishing the marinating process, the tantalizing aroma during dehydration, and the quality time spent together. These experiences fostered a lifelong love for crafting and enjoying beef jerky.
As a Sales Professional for over twelve years, Mike continued this tradition as an adult, frequently making jerky at home. One day, his wife astutely observed his growing enthusiasm and asked, “You seem to be making a lot of jerky lately; have you ever considered selling it?” This question sparked the idea that led to the creation of Mike’s Meaty Jerky.
Since its inception, Mike’s Meaty Jerky has focused on producing handcrafted, small-batch beef jerky with bold flavors. The venture has become a family affair, with Mike’s daughters assisting in packaging and labeling, expressing their desire to work for the business when they grow up, and allowing Mike to teach them some valuable life and business lessons along the way. Mike’s mission is to spread joy and jerky wherever he goes, sharing his love for this savory snack with a growing community of enthusiasts. This Mike’s Meaty Jerky brand is distributed under the same name as Mike’s Meaty Jerky, and it is located in Lebanon, Indiana.
The next review on Mike’s Meaty Jerky will focus on a 3 ounce/85 gram bag of Sticky & Sweet Teriyaki flavored beef jerky. This jerky was graciously submitted for review by Owner Mike Trojnar.

MIKE’S MEATY JERKY – STICKY & SWEET TERIYAKI BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell teriyaki. The pieces are large and sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is a bit oily, and it leaves a slight moisture on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky I am met with salt, which is at a decent level, sweet, very noticeable, but well within reason. I also taste mild pepper and mild garlic, along with a juice, I’m guessing a lemon juice.
I must admit that the teriyaki flavor is similar but not entirely, which is good because the sweetness does not dominate this flavor.
I am quite enjoying this flavor and am willing to give it a 9/10.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Sticky & Sweet Teriyaki beef jerky flavor from Mike’s Meaty Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the honest taste review. While this teriyaki flavor is sweet tasting, by no means whatsoever does it go overboard as so many other teriyaki flavors do. The soy flavor is at a good level, and the pineapple flavor complements the overall flavor well. While not a listed ingredient, I am fairly certain that I detected sesame, which is one of my favorite ingredients, giving this teriyaki flavor an Asian flair.”
“The texture is fantastic. While sticky as advertised, the texture is firm. If you tear the strips along the grain, the chewing is reasonable and does not break your teeth. The overall taste profile is very well balanced and tastes downright delicious, and this coming from somebody who is not much of a fan of teriyaki flavor. With Paul at a 9 and myself at a no doubter 10, an Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 3 ounce/85 gram bag of jerky sells online for $13.00. That works out to $4.33 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
