Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Soy Sauce (Water, Wheat, Soybeans, Salt), Brown Sugar, Jalapeno Flakes, Spice, Vinegar, Liquid Smoke, Sodium Nitrite. Allergen Warnings: Soy, Wheat
The beef used is certified halal certified from Zabiha Halal beef. The cattle are guaranteed to have partial free range access to graze on grass. The cattle are also ethically raised, meaning that the cows receive no growth hormones or additional antibiotics. As a result, the ingredient rating starts at a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The liquid marinade is comprised of an alright brand of soy sauce, healthy vinegar, and liquid smoke.
Some healthy ingredients added are jalapeno pepper flakes and spices.
The sugar level is kind of high at 7 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 4 grams of sugar or less for a hot based flavor, as we have here. The salt level is high at 650mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite added as sodium nitrite is used outright as a preservative to lose a rating. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
SUPREME BEEF JERKY – JALAPENO GARLIC BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell very little, possibly slight vinegar. The pieces are large in size, and they are sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is dry and rigid, just like our forefathers intended. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky I am met with salt, at a decent level, the sweetness is about at the same level as the salt. I taste pepper at a good level, along with garlic, which is at a decent level but not bold, like it should be if garlic is in the title of the flavor. However, I do most definitely taste the jalapeño, it is coming through in spades. The jalapeño, yes, the garlic, not so much.
This jerky tastes good, but it is not blowing me away. It is a fine treat, but it is not addictive, leaving me at an 8, which sounds about right to me.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Jalapeno Garlic beef jerky flavor from Supreme Beef Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the accurate taste review. I concur 100% with everything stated. The heat from the jalapeno is at an acceptable level. The heat would rate a 2 out of 4 on the heat scale. While the garlic is noticeable, it is far from being prominent with garlic in the flavor name. The sweetness is too sweet tasting for my liking, distracting from the natural beef flavor.”
“There is no hint of the natural beef flavor tasting processed. The overall taste profile is not all that well balanced, with the sweetness and heat being the dominant flavor, not that having heat is a negative thing. This flavor comes across more as a Sweet & Spicy flavor than a Jalapeno Garlic one. With this said, I still found this flavor to be enjoyable. A unanimous Good (8/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.5 ounce/71 gram bag of jerky sold online for $8.99, which equates to $3.60 an ounce. That rates as an average price.
Bag Review
This black plastic resealable bag has everything imprinted on the bag, both the front and back. There is a sticker on the front that states the jerky weight. The Supreme Beef Jerky logo is a happy looking cow sitting down wearing a gold crown.
There are no slogans displayed on this bag. Some facts printed are “Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor Added”, “Made With 100% Halal Beef”, “Hand Cut Meat, Tenderized, and Marinated to Perfection”, “13g Protein”, “Premium Cuts of Beef Jerky”, and “Made in California”.
The only missing bag category is soy and wheat allergen alerts. Some sections are translated into Arabic. A QR code is displayed on the back. A Halal Food Standards Alliance of America stamp is displayed. A small but good blurb about this jerky and flavor is printed on the back. The transparent window is the shape of the cow’s head. To the credit of Supreme Beef Jerky, an email address is provided for customer inquiries.
