3 ELIZABETH’S GUINNESS STEAK CUTS – CHOCOLATE GUINNESS STEAK CUTS
Written by guest steak cuts reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell basically nothing. The strips are small to medium in size and sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is rigid enough to somewhat appease our forefathers. There is no oily residue.
When I bite into the jerky I immediately taste mild salt, sweeter than I would usually endorse, mild pepper, as well as mild garlic and onion. I detect the chocolate flavor, it is present, but not to excess. I do not pick up on the Guinness though, it is not really making an appearance. This flavor is not a typical jerky flavor; chocolate should not be an ingredient in jerky, as it compromises the integrity of the original meaning of jerky.
But, as a flavor, it is decent, so I will award a 7/10. Gentlemen?

I sniffed the contents of the bag, and I was not so sure I’d like this jerky, as the smell of beer was rather pungent. I took a small bite and the flavor was exquisite. The flavor profile is rich and complex, delivering a sensational depth. The light sweetness and its slight bitterness make the flavor of this tasty product “pop” in a significant way.
I am the first one to be amazed that I’ve enjoyed this jerky, and I do. The flavors are really well paired, and the result is nothing short of a flavor bomb. The strips are nice, lean, thick, tender, and the flavor is consistent throughout every bite.
I’d recommend this jerky. It is delicious, refined, and a definitely worthwhile new experience. I rate this jerky a 10/10 Taste Rating.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Chocolate steak cut flavor from 3 Elizabeth’s Guinness Steak Cuts: “Thanks Paul and Stéphane for the interesting taste reviews. I lean with Stéphane here. Starting with the smell, I found that the fragrance of chocolate is much more prevalent than the smell of Guinness. The same could be said for the jerky, where chocolate is the dominant taste and the taste of Guinness is distant.”
“As Stéphane noted, the overall taste profile is extremely well-balanced. There is no hint whatsoever of this beef tasting processed, and the odd strips have some fat, which accentuates the natural beef flavor even more. The more strips I consumed, the more this Chocolate flavor grew on me, which is an unusual flavor for jerky despite Paul’s biases. The addition of coffee extract and gluten free soy sauce is wonderful and fits in beautifully. Kudos to the chef who conceived this wonderful masterpiece. With Paul at a 7 and Stéphane and me at a 10, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”
This 2.5 ounce/71 gram bag of jerky sells for $8.99. That works out to $3.60 an ounce, which rates as an average price.
