It took nearly twelve years to review 450 brands of jerky. Stating ‘jerky brands’ is a bit unfair, as some of these brands are meat sticks, biltong, or other types of dried meat brands, but for the most part, they are jerky brands. It is getting increasingly hard to find new jerky brands. I can walk into a store with a great variety of jerky brands and still find that every single brand has been reviewed before. It is getting to the point where I need to visit specific regions of the United States to find a number of new jerky brands to review.
A stated goal when this jerky review website was first started was to review jerky from all 50 states. We are getting closer to achieving that goal, having reviewed 47 states, with just Alabama, Delaware, and Maine remaining. We also received jerky submissions, which have slowed but continue to trickle in. We are getting close to 175 jerky brands submitted for review from over 800 jerky bags. Living in Canada has always made it challenging to receive jerky submissions, and to complicate things further, jerky makers have not been allowed to submit jerky to a Canadian address since 2020.
