In 2012, I purchased this It’s Buff buffalo jerky online from the elkusa web site. This 2 ounce/56 gram bag of jerky is their black pepper flavor.
This jerky is distributed by Grande Premium Meats, located at the eastern edge of the San Juan mountain range of southwestern Colorado, in a city named Del Norte. They produce ranch-based elk, deer venison, buffalo meat, goat meat, Alaska seafood, antler, and pet food among other things since 1998. Both wholesaling and retailing opportunities are available. Their products are advertised to be high quality natural products.

Buffalo meat as a general rule is healthier, and leaner compared to beef. These buffalo are farm raised with free range access to graze on grass, and roam about. The buffalo are also ethically raised, meaning they are not administered growth hormones or additional antibiotics.
The liquid marinade is only water and soy sauce. While not common, the Worcestershire sauce is in powdered form. It is unfortunate to see that the highly refined sweetener corn syrup solids is used. Corn based products have no business being in jerky.
Some people refer to black pepper as the king of spices. It offers many nutritional benefits.
There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the salt and sugar levels are unknown.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservative. Instead, salt is the main preservative. Admirably, this jerky qualifies to have no MSG added.

Taste Review
The hand sliced jerky strips are uniform in size, and sliced thick. It has a great texture, not too tough, but not too tender either. There is some fat on the meat, which adds to the overall flavor.
The first taste detected is a good peppered level. There is a great deal of natural buffalo flavor that only tastes slightly gamey. The soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce powder are good additions. Overall, a great tasting jerky.
This 2 ounce/56 gram bag cost $6.95, which works out to $3.48 an ounce, which is an expensive price. Considering a healthy ingredient list is used and this jerky tastes good, this jerky is recommended as worth your money.

This is a very plain, transparent plastic bag that is resealable. There is a label affixed to the front, and nothing on the back. The logo is decent, which depicts a buffalo.
There are no slogans on the label. Some facts printed on the label are “Hickory Smoked” and “Proudly Made in the USA”.
Most bag categories are covered here. Missing is a nutrition facts table, and a best before date. There is no blurb printed about this jerky or flavor, but there is no room. To the credit of Grande Premium Meats, there is a toll free phone number provided for customer inquiries.
