Boozy Jerky is a distinctive beef jerky brand that artfully combines tender cuts of meat with the rich flavors of craft beer and spirits. Founded in 2018 by two seasoned entrepreneurs with backgrounds in private label jerky production for wineries and breweries, as well as direct-to-consumer jerky subscriptions, the company set out to create a product that stands apart from traditional offerings. Rejecting the idea of producing another generic jerky, they focused on innovation, infusing their products with unique alcoholic flavors to enhance the snacking experience.
Each variety of Boozy Jerky is marinated for 24 to 48 hours in carefully selected craft beers or spirits, such as pilsners, IPAs, lagers, or bourbon, and then seasoned with complementary spices. This meticulous process results in jerky that is not only flavorful but also tender and easy to chew. Notably, while real alcohol is used in the marination process, the final product contains no residual alcohol, making it safe for all ages. The jerky is also gluten-free, high in protein, and suitable for various dietary preferences, including keto and paleo diets.
Boozy Jerky delivers a premium product that appeals to both meat snack enthusiasts and craft beverage aficionados by focusing on small-batch production and using locally sourced craft beers. Their commitment to quality and innovation has positioned them as a unique player in the meat snack industry. This Boozy Jerky brand is distributed under the name Boozy Jerky, LLC, and it is located in Fargo, North Dakota. The jerky is manufactured by Boyd Specialties, located in Colton, California.
The next review on Boozy Jerky will focus on a 1.5 ounce/42 gram bag of their Bourbon Whiskey flavored brisket beef jerky. This flavor is described as being as smooth as the award winning Colorado Bourbon from Breckenridge Distillery it’s made with. The jerky was kindly submitted for review by Co-Founder & Chief Boozy Officer R. Shaun Gray.

The cut of beef brisket used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade used here is comprised of not so healthy bourbon, bourbon extract, a decent brand of gluten free tamari soy sauce, super healthy apple cider vinegar, a well respected brand of Worcestershire sauce, healthy lemon juice, and liquid hickory smoke.
Some healthy ingredients added are cayenne pepper, granulated garlic, and black pepper.
The sugar level is acceptable at 3 grams of sugar per 28 grams. The salt level is very low at 85mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservative used is salt. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
BOOZY JERKY – BOURBON WHISKEY BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I believe I slightly smell the alcohol. It’s very faint, but I believe I am smelling it. The jerky is medium in size and sliced thin. The jerky is dry and somewhat soft, making it easy to chew, but not exactly as our forefathers intended.
When I bite into the jerky, I taste salt at a medium level. I also taste sweetness, pretty much at the same level as the salt. There is mild pepper and garlic flavors, and I also detect an ever so slight kick. I don’t really taste the bourbon, and I am a card carrying disciple of bourbon.
I must say, this jerky is decent, but not excellent. I am most comfortable awarding this flavor an 8/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Bourbon Whiskey brisket beef jerky flavor from Boozy Jerky “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. I agree with everything stated. There is a very interesting mix of liquids used here with bourbon, bourbon extract, gluten free tamari soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and liquid hickory smoke. Detecting liquor in jerky is challenging enough, but with numerous different liquids present, it makes the task even more difficult. In any case, this unique blend of liquids blends in very well and tastes fantastic.”
“Paul is right in that there is an ever so slight kick present, but not hot enough to register on the heat scale. Brisket is the cut of beef used, which is renowned for absorbing the marinade well compared to other cuts of beef. The natural beef flavor has no hints whatsoever of tasting processed. This Bourbon Whiskey flavor is a treat to eat, but it lacks somewhat in ‘wow’ factor. A unanimous Good (8/10) taste rating will be awarded and thumbs up to Breckenridge Distillery.”
This 1.5 ounce/43 gram bag of jerky sells online for $7.00. That works out to $4.67 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
Bag Review
This black, resealable plastic bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The logo of the Boozy Jerky displays what could be construed as a drunk cow’s head. There is also a drunk looking cow. The bag features an illustration of a barrel and a glass of bourbon with ice cubes.
A slogan printed on this bag could be “The Original Booze Infused Beef Jerky”. Some facts printed are “Made with Real Bourbon Whiskey”, “Premium Brisket”, “Cooked Tender”, “Made with Real Bourbon Whiskey”, “Pair’s Best Whiskey”, Made in USA”, “Breckenridge Distillery”, “Limited Edition”, “The PERFECT PAIRing”, and “Partner Pairing”.
Some missing bag categories are a soy allergen alert and no transparent window to view the jerky.
