Sprouts Farmers Market is a U.S. supermarket chain known for its fresh, natural, and organic food offerings and a shopping experience that evokes a farm-stand or farmers market vibe within a traditional grocery setting. Founded in 2002, the company has grown into one of the largest specialty retailers of better for you foods, operating hundreds of stores across more than two dozen states. At its core, Sprouts emphasizes fresh produce, often displayed prominently in an open layout store design, alongside a wide selection of groceries, bulk foods, meat and seafood, deli items, baked goods, dairy, and frozen foods.
Many locations also feature extensive vitamin and supplement departments, as well as products catering to a variety of diets, including plant-based, gluten-free, and organic. The chain strives to combine healthy, lifestyle-friendly products with community engagement, sustainability initiatives, and competitive pricing, positioning itself as a more affordable alternative to some other natural food retailers while maintaining a focus on wellness and wholesome ingredients.
The Sprouts Farmers Market jerky brand name is distributed under the same name as Sprouts Farmers Market, and they are located in Phoenix, Arizona. This Sprouts Farmers Market jerky brand is manufactured by the private label company Country Archer, located in San Bernardino, California, likely making this a stock recipe.
The first review for Sprouts Farmers Market will focus on a 2.5 ounce/70 gram bag of their Hatch Chile flavored 100% grass-fed beef jerky. This jerky bag was purchased at a Sprouts Farmers Market store in Ventura, California.

100% grass-fed beef is used here, just the way nature intended. These cattle are raised ethically, meaning they are not fed growth hormones or additional antibiotics. There is also some free range access for the cattle to roam about. As a result, the ingredient rating starts at Excellent (10/10).
The liquid marinade consists of a respected brand of gluten-free tamari soy sauce, healthy organic seasoned rice vinegar dressing, and healthy pineapple juice.
Some healthy ingredients added are hatch chile seasoning, and black pepper. The heat is achieved from red pepper, cayenne pepper, and hatch chili pepper.
The sugar level is borderline acceptable at 4 grams of sugar per 28 grams for a spicy based flavor as we have here. The salt level is acceptable at 330mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite added. Instead, salt is the main preservative added. Admirably, this jerky qualifies as having no MSG added.

SPROUTS FARMERS MARKET – HATCH CHILE 100% GRASS FED BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell nothing really. The pieces are medium in size and sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is soft and juicy, but there is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I am met with strong salt, mild sweet, mild garlic and onion, along with medium pepper flavor. I don’t really pick up on any chili flavor.
This jerky is rather tasty, not sure about the “hatch” in the title of the jerky, but a decent flavor. Kind of writing like an 8, and very satisfied in awarding it an 8/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Hatch Chile 100% grass-fed beef jerky flavor from Wegmans: “Thanks Paul for the candid taste review. I generally agree with Paul’s taste review. The texture truly is soft and tender, which is not for everyone. I too do not pick up all that much heat from the hatch chiles. The heat would rate a 1 out of 4 on the heat scale. I would not term the sweetness at a mild level, more at a moderate level, which is arguably too sweet tasting.”
“While the natural beef flavor does not taste processed, I would not say that the natural beef flavor is at a strong level, especially for 100% grass fed beef. The overall taste profile is fairly complex, where nobody could claim it is boring tasting. While the taste is interesting, there was zero ‘wow’ factor for me. With Paul at an 8 and myself at a 7.5, a Good (8/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.5 ounce/70 gram bag sold for $4.99, which works out to $2.00 an ounce. That rates as a cheap price.
Bag Review
This resealable plastic bag has everything imprinted on it, both on the front and back. There are illustrations of chili peppers on the front and back.
There are no slogans printed on the bag. Some facts printed are “Made With 100% Grass Fed Beef”, No MSG”, “No Nitrites/Nitrates”, “No Added Preservatives”, “9g of Protein”, “Low in Fat”, “Money Back 100% Guarantee”, and “Certified Gluten Free”,
The only missing bag category is a blurb describing this jerky and flavor.
