Tennessee Hot Sauce Co – Poblano Jalapeno Beef Jerky

Tuesday, March 24, 2026 Leave a Comment

Tennessee Hot Sauce Co - Poblano Jalapeno Beef JerkyTennessee Hot Sauce Co is a small-batch, family owned brand founded in 2021, focused on delivering bold, creative hot sauce flavors through a convenient subscription model. Built around the idea that no household should ever run out of flavorful heat, the company emphasizes variety, experimentation, and customer feedback, regularly developing new recipes that range from mild, flavor forward blends to intensely spicy creations.

While hot sauce is Tennessee Hot Sauce Co’s core offering, the brand has expanded into meat snacks, including beef jerky infused with its signature sauces, such as a poblano jalapeño variety that enhances traditional jerky with bright citrus, herbs, and layered spice. Overall, Tennessee Hot Sauce Co positions itself as a community driven, innovation focused producer that combines Southern inspired flavor profiles with small batch craftsmanship, aiming to deliver both a consistent supply of heat and an evolving, engaging experience for spice enthusiasts.

This Tennessee Hot Sauce Co jerky brand is distributed under the same name as Tennessee Hot Sauce Co, and is located in Nashville, Tennessee. This Tennessee Hot Sauce Co jerky brand is manufactured by the private label company SME Foods, LLC, located in York, Pennsylvania.

The first review on Tennessee Hot Sauce Co will focus on a 2.5 ounce/70.9 gram bag of Poblano Jalapeno flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as intensified cilantro, amplified lime essence, and cranked up spice, resulting in jerky that fulfills every flavor craving. The bag was purchased at a Beef Jerky Outlet store in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ingredient Review

Ingredients: Beef, Water, Cilantro Lime Seasoning Blend (Dried Garlic, Sugar, Salt, Dried Onion, Red and Green Peppers, Citric Acid, Cilantro and other Spices, Dried Lime Peel, Lime Oil, Natural Flavors), Lime Juice, Salt, Sugar, Dried Jalapeno Peppers, Dried Poblano Peppers, Garlic, Cilantro, Spices, Sodium Nitrite.

Tennessee Hot Sauce Co - Poblano Jalapeno Beef JerkyThe beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.

Tennessee Hot Sauce Co - Poblano Jalapeno Beef JerkyThe liquid marinade is comprised of just water and healthy lime juice.

Some healthy ingredients added are cilantro lime seasoning, spices, garlic, and cilantro. The heat is achieved from jalapeno powder and poblano powder, which are healthy when eaten in moderation, flushing toxins out of the body.

The sugar level is unknown as it is missing from the nutrition facts table. The salt level is somewhat high at 430mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of beef jerky.

This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite added, as sodium nitrite is used outright to lose a rating. Admirably, this flavor does qualify to have no MSG added.

Decent (7/10) – Ingredient Rating

Taste Review

TENNESSEE HOT SAUCE CO – POBLANO JALAPENO BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell nothing. The pieces are medium to small in size and sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is dry and tough to chew, just as our forefathers intended. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.

When I bite into the jerky, I am met with a decent level of salt, next to no sweetness, significant pepper flavor, and mild garlic. Immediately, I pick up on the heat. It is quite prevalent, more so than what a jalapeño could provide. This “poblano”, which I am told is a type of hot pepper, is coming through in spades, and it is a great tasting heat. Color me duly impressed.

This flavor has some serious bite to it. I also taste the jalapeño, but the poblano is dominating this flavor, and d*mn, it is bloody tasty. Overall, this is a delectable, flaming hot treat that comes across exactly as advertised and is therefore a no-brainer 10/10. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Poblano Jalapeno beef jerky flavor from Tennessee Hot Sauce Co: “Thanks Paul for the enthusiastic taste review. I 100% agree with everything stated. The heat would rate a solid 2 out of 4, or for some, a 3 out of 5 on the heat scale. While cilantro is not for everybody, it is a fantastic addition to this flavor providing depth. I could say the same thing about the lime, which livens up the overall flavor.”

“It is a refreshing change to have no soy sauce present, which seems to accentuate the natural flavor of beef. The natural flavor of beef has no hint of tasting processed and tastes divine. The overall taste profile is well-balanced and addictive as heck. Take a bow Tennessee Hot Sauce Co, you knocked this flavor out of the park. A well-deserved, unanimous Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍

This 2.5 ounce/70.9 gram bag of jerky sells for $8.99. That equates to $4.50 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.

Excellent (10/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This resealable clear plastic bag has labels affixed to both the front and back. The Tennessee Hot Sauce Co logo has what looks like three flames in the circle. This bag is vacuum sealed, the best way to keep jerky tasting fresh.

There are no slogans printed. The only fact printed is “Hot Sauce in Jerky Form”.

The only missing bag category is a sugar category in the nutrition facts table. There is a good blurb on the back that describes this flavor. A QR code is printed on the back.
