CJ’s Dehydrated Products Inc. debuted its Jerk My Meat jerky brand in February 2022. They produce a variety of Beef Jerky, Trail Mixes, Dehydrated Fruits, and Spices. Owners Joe and Corey were both born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and have been friends for over 15 years. Both were in the Canadian Armed Forces, and both have culinary backgrounds. They bring a unique flavour to their company.
Business is picking up for Jerk My Meat, where they picked a few new contracts. Soon, they will have 13 flavours available. Joe and Corey have a love for the outdoors and an even greater love for traveling and experiencing new adventures. During one of their adventures away with their wives to the Caribbean, they discovered a love for their main product (JERKY!) and wanted to share it with others.
Jerk My Meat debuted its store on 518 Queen Street East in downtown Sault Ste. Marie in September. I had the opportunity to visit their store, where I have positive expectations for them. This Jerk My Meat jerky brand name is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, and is distributed under CJ’s Dehydrated Products Inc.
The next review for Jerk My Meat will focus on a 3.5 ounce/99 gram bag of their Dr. Pepper flavoured beef jerky. This flavour is described as being made with local beef, natural flavours, and is low in salt and sugar content with no MSG. The jerky was kindly submitted by co-owner Joe.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Salt, Dr. Pepper, Brown Sugar, Citric Acid.
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The only liquid marinade used is Dr. Pepper, which is not that healthy.
There are no healthy ingredients.
There is no nutritional facts table provided. As a result, the exact amounts of salt and sugar are unknown.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. To a lesser degree, citric acid acts as a preservative. Commendably, there is no MSG added.

JERK MY MEAT – DR. PPEPPER BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell beef but nothing else. The jerky is sliced in various thicknesses, with one piece being very thick. The jerky is neither soft nor tough. It is perfect. The meat practically melts in your mouth.
This jerky is hitting ridiculous highs in all facets of an accurate beef jerky flavour. I detect salt, pepper, garlic, natural beef, and, to my surprise, I detect a “Dr. Pepper”ish flavour, which someone said (I can’t remember exactly who) reminds them of something in-between a coke and a cherry coke, which I think sums up this flavour perfectly. Add to that the incredible taste, and you have a slam-dunk, first ballot Hall Of Fame” 10/10 for beef jerky favours. Gentlemen?

I am duly impressed with Jerk my Meat – Dr. Pepper Beef Jerky flavour. The aroma and texture are fabulous. The flavour profile is simple, well-balanced, and divinely flavourful. This jerky is sweet within reason, and its fruitiness is present in each bite. The taste is nice and meaty, and the seasoning is in the background where it belongs. Each bite has a clean and crisp flavour, and the strips have a quality feel to them.
I went through this delightful snack in record time, this is a truly addictive flavour, and I couldn’t get enough. This jerky is a great representation of Dr. Pepper, and I absolutely love it. I’d even go as far as saying: This jerky is even better than the actual soda it represents IMHO.
This Jerk my Meat Dr. Pepper Beef Jerky is like candy and a little wonder. It truly deserves a solid 10/10 Taste Rating. Godspeed!
Here is what Mark had to say about this Pepper-Racha beef jerky flavour from Jerky My Meat: “Thanks and Paul and Stéphane for the bang on taste reviews. I could not agree more as I could not identify a single problem. The taste profile is simple, and there is no messing around. The flavour simply focuses on the Dr. Pepper with a little sweetness added without going overboard.”
“Once again, the texture is mostly thick strips but still relatively easy to chew. No hint whatsoever of a processed tasting beef. My portion was also devoured in no time. Meat candy is a good way of describing this jerky. It is unanimous a well-earned Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”
This 3.5 ounce/99 gram bag of beef jerky sells for $10.00. That works out to $2.85 an ounce, which rates as an average price.

Bag Review
This resealable black coloured bag has labels attached to the front and back. The Jerk My Meat logo is a caricature of the owners, Joe and Corey.
There are no slogans printed on this bag. The only fact stated is “Prepared And Packaged At: Bruni’s Fine Foods”.
Some missing bag categories are a blurb printed about this jerky, the jerky weight, a Canadian Department of Agriculture stamp, a nutritional facts table, a company website, distributor address details, barcode, best before date, and French translations. Admirably, phone numbers are provided for customer inquiries.
