Taste Review
EL VICIO – CARNE ACECINA BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell nothing. The jerky is large in size, and it is sliced rather thin. The jerky is dry and crunchy, which is awesome and close to what our forefathers intended.
When I bite into the jerky I taste intense salt, a spectacular thing, next to no sweet, also a spectacular thing, decent pepper, light garlic, and also light onion. I am also picking up on a serious kick, which is scrumptious.
Is carne or acecina similar to paprika, which is what I believe I am tasting right now?
All I know is I am severely enjoying this particular flavor of jerky and am endorsing a no-brainer 10/10.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Carne Acecina beef jerky flavor from El Vicio: “Thanks Paul for the candid taste review. I too very much enjoyed this flavor. I would not say the saltiness is at an intense level, more at a medium level. The heat is at a good level, which may rate a 2 out of 4 on the heat scale. No, paprika is not a listed ingredient.”
“What really brings this jerky to the next level is the crunchy, brittle texture. While there are crunchier textures out there, these thin slices do qualify to have a crispy texture. The overall taste profile is well-balanced and has you wanting more. I do not have a single complaint either, and the heat makes this jerky taste delicious. A no-brainer, unanimous Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2 ounce/57 gram bag of jerky sells for $6.99, which equates to $3.50 an ounce. That rates as an average price.
Bag Review
This resealable bag has everything imprinted on the front and back. There are illustrations of a cow’s head wearing a hat, fire, and a drink with jerky strips.
A slogan printed could be “Leegale a tu Vicio”. Some facts printed are “Con Chile” and “Mexican-Style Beef Jerky”.
Some missing bag categories are the jerky weight not stated in grams and a blurb about El Vicio or this flavor.
