Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Water, Seasoning (Sugar, Salt, Garlic, Yeast Extract, Sodium Diacetate, Spice Extracts, Onion).
This beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating..
The liquid marinade is comprised of just plain old water.
Some healthy ingredients added are garlic, spice extracts, and onion.
The sugar level is acceptable at 2 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is a bit high at 420mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, salt is the main preservative. Admirably, there is no MSG added.
Decent (7/10) – Ingredient Rating

SB CRAFT JERKY – DILL-ICIOUS PICKLE BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell the very distinct dill pickle flavor, but not much else. The jerky strips are medium in both size and thickness. The jerky is dry, almost crunchy, which I love, and there is no oily residue.
When I bite into the jerky I taste salt, at a decent level, with little to no sweetness, medium pepper, and fainter garlic, but boy, oh boy, I strongly taste the dill pickle flavor, which I also love. The dill pickle greatly enhances the flavor of the jerky on the whole. The taste is excellent, the texture is fantastic, and it actually hits the “WOW” factor for me. This flavor of jerky is “da bomb”!!
A no-brainer, 100 miles an hour fastball down the heart of the plate grand slam 10/10. Another well-deserved Two thumbs way up!!👍👍
Here is what Mark had to say about this Dill-Licious Pickle beef jerky flavor from SB Craft Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the glowing taste review. I 100% agree with everything stated. Perhaps I would not say that the dill flavor is strong, but it is certainly prominent. I too, love the taste of dill the older I get, and especially with jerky. The natural beef flavor comes across very well, with no hint whatsoever of tasting processed.”
“I also love the dry, old-fashioned texture. I cannot quite give the crispy jerky tag to this jerky, but it is awfully close to being qualified as crispy, but you could say crunchy. The overall taste profile is fairly simple, but what’s important is that the dill pickle flavor is dominant. A unanimous, well-deserved Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.8 ounce/79.4 gram bag of jerky sells for $8.99, which equates to $3.21 an ounce. That rates as an average price.
