Boozy Jerky – Rosemary Garlicky Pilsner Beef Jerky

Thursday, August 21, 2025 Leave a Comment

Boozy Jerky - Garlicky Pilsner Beef JerkyBoozy Jerky is a distinctive beef jerky brand that artfully combines tender cuts of meat with the rich flavors of craft beer and spirits. Founded in 2018 by two seasoned entrepreneurs with backgrounds in private label jerky production for wineries and breweries, as well as direct-to-consumer jerky subscriptions, the company set out to create a product that stands apart from traditional offerings. Rejecting the idea of producing another generic jerky, they focused on innovation, infusing their products with unique alcoholic flavors to enhance the snacking experience.

Each variety of Boozy Jerky is marinated for 24 to 48 hours in carefully selected craft beers or spirits, such as pilsners, IPAs, lagers, or bourbon, and then seasoned with complementary spices. This meticulous process results in jerky that is not only flavorful but also tender and easy to chew. Notably, while real alcohol is used in the marination process, the final product contains no residual alcohol, making it safe for all ages. The jerky is also gluten-free, high in protein, and suitable for various dietary preferences, including keto and paleo diets.

Boozy Jerky delivers a premium product that appeals to both meat snack enthusiasts and craft beverage aficionados by focusing on small-batch production and using locally sourced craft beers. Their commitment to quality and innovation has positioned them as a unique player in the meat snack industry. This Boozy Jerky brand is distributed under the name Boozy Jerky, LLC, and it is located in Fargo, North Dakota. The jerky is manufactured by Boyd Specialties, located in Colton, California.

The next review on Boozy Jerky will focus on a 8 ounce/227 gram bag of their Rosemary Garlicky Pilsner flavored brisket beef jerky. This flavor is described as being infused with pilsner beer and seasoned to perfection with a mouth-watering combination of fresh rosemary & garlic. The jerky was graciously submitted for review by Co-Founder & Chief Boozy Officer R. Shaun Gray.

Taste Review

BOOZY JERKY – GARLICKY PILSNER BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell natural beef, and not much else. The jerky is large and sliced rather thin. The jerky is soft and droopy, not like our forefathers intended. The jerky is dry, and it leaves no oily residue on your fingers.

When I bite into the jerky, I immediately taste salt at a high level, but very tasty, as well as mild sweetness, solid pepper, garlic, and light onion. I am not necessarily picking up on the rosemary, as well as the Pilsner. I reviewed this jerky a day earlier than usual, thanks to the Pilsner. Unfortunately, I am not really picking up on any beer flavor.

However, this jerky is quite tasty, and if I even picked up a hint of the rosemary or Pilsner, this flavor would be a no-brainer 10/10. However, because two listed ingredients are missing, I must therefore deduct a point each, bringing us to an 8/10. I would be willing to go as high as a 9/10, but that would be only because the jerky tastes so good. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Rosemary Garlicky Pilsner brisket beef jerky flavor from Boozy Jerky “Thanks Paul for the honest taste review. Starting with the texture, there is zero issue whatsoever. It’s not as tough and rigid as some other brands, but it’s not advertised as such. The highly respected brisket cut of beef is used, which is known to better absorb the marinade of any other cuts of beef. Like most beer flavors, it is difficult to detect the flavor of beer, and this Pilsner beer flavor is no different. I am fairly certain that I do detect the flavor of rosemary. In my homemade meatball noodle soup, I experimented with adding a ton of rosemary to figure out what taste rosemary brings to the table. Still today, I use a liberal amount of rosemary in each batch of soup.”

“While the garlic level is not strong, it is at a good, noticeable level. Good enough to justify having Garlicky in the flavor name. Similar to Paul and I homemade jerky, there is a very good ratio of soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce. I am unable to detect the hickory smoke in this flavor. The natural beef flavor has no hint at all of tasting processed. The overall taste profile is complex and is well balanced, with garlic being the star of the show. This ‘8oz Growler Bag’ is delicious and addictive. The Pilsner beer aspect aside, with Paul at a 9 and me at a 10, an Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded.”

This 8 ounce/227 gram bag of jerky sells online for $23.99. That works out to $3.00 an ounce, which rates as a borderline cheap price.

Very Good (9/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This black, resealable plastic bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The logo of the Boozy Jerky displays what could be construed as a drunk cow’s head. The bag has an illustration of a pilsner beer in a glass with cleverly a clove of garlic acting as a lemon wedge, rosemary, a hot pepper, and more garlic.

A slogan printed could be “The Original Booze Infused Beef Jerky”. The only facts printed are “Pairs Best Pilsners” and “Est. 2018.”

Some missing bag category is a blurb about Boozy Jerky or this flavor and soy/anchovy allergen alerts.

Decent (7/10) – Bag Rating
