Boozy Jerky – Tropical Sriracha Beef Jerky

Monday, October 13, 2025 Leave a Comment

Boozy Jerky - Tropical Sriracha Beef JerkyBoozy Jerky is a distinctive beef jerky brand that artfully combines tender cuts of meat with the rich flavors of craft beer and spirits. Founded in 2018 by two seasoned entrepreneurs with backgrounds in private label jerky production for wineries and breweries, as well as direct-to-consumer jerky subscriptions, the company set out to create a product that stands apart from traditional offerings. Rejecting the idea of producing another generic jerky, they focused on innovation, infusing their products with unique alcoholic flavors to enhance the snacking experience.

Each variety of Boozy Jerky is marinated for 24 to 48 hours in carefully selected craft beers or spirits, such as pilsners, IPAs, lagers, or bourbon, and then seasoned with complementary spices. This meticulous process results in jerky that is not only flavorful but also tender and easy to chew. Notably, while real alcohol is used in the marination process, the final product contains no residual alcohol, making it safe for all ages. The jerky is also gluten-free, high in protein, and suitable for various dietary preferences, including keto and paleo diets.

Boozy Jerky delivers a premium product that appeals to both meat snack enthusiasts and craft beverage aficionados by focusing on small-batch production and using locally sourced craft beers. Their commitment to quality and innovation has positioned them as a unique player in the meat snack industry. This Boozy Jerky brand is distributed under the name Boozy Jerky, LLC, and it is located in Otsego, Minnesota. The jerky is manufactured by Boyd Specialties, located in Colton, California.

The next review on Boozy Jerky will focus on a 8 ounce/224 gram bag of their Tropical Sriracha flavored brisket beef jerky. This flavor is made with an Island Hazy IPA. It features Mr Frank’s Tropical Sriracha Seasoning, bringing the taste of the tropics to your plate with sweet mango, coconut, and spicy chili peppers. The jerky was graciously submitted for review by Co-Founder & Chief Boozy Officer R. Shaun Gray.

Ingredient Review

Ingredients: Beef, Brown Sugar, Tamari Sauce (Water, Soybeans, Salt, Sugar), ERWO Beer, Mr Franks Tropical Sriracha Spice (Sugar, Sea Salt, Red Jalapeno Powder, Granulated Garlic, Tomato Powder, Dried Chiles, Citric Acid, Paprika, Lemon Zest, Granulated Onion, Parsley, Organic Sunflower Oil and Natural Flavors), Granulated Garlic, Granulated Onion, Orange Extract (Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Orange Oil), All Spice, Ginger, Ground Pepper

Boozy Jerky - Tropical Sriracha Beef JerkyThe cut of beef brisket used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.

The liquid marinade used here is comprised of a decent brand of tamari soy sauce and a not so healthy Everything Rhymes with Orange (ERWO) IPA beer.

One healthy ingredient added is Mr Frank’s Tropical Sriracha Spice, which contains many healthy ingredients. Other healthy ingredients are granulated garlic, granulated onion, orange extract, allspice, ginger, and ground pepper.

The sugar level is acceptable at 2 grams of sugar per 28 grams. The salt level is low at 150mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.

This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservative used is salt and sea salt. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

BOOZY JERKY – TROPICAL SRIRACHA BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell sweet and a hint of vinegar, and nothing else. The strips are small to medium in size and sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is soft and easy to chew, not as our forefathers intended. There is a slight oily residue left on your fingers.

When I bite into the jerky, I am met with mild salt, too much sweetness, mild garlic, mild pepper, and a vinegary taste that I am not overly fond of. This jerky is not impressing me. It is also mild on the Sriracha. I taste the Sriracha, but it is very mild. In fact, there is only one flavor that is prevalent in this particular flavor, and that is sweetness.

I’m not sure what the word “tropical” means, but I have to say I am not much impressed with this flavor. It has no “Wow!!” factor whatsoever, and it is too pedestrian in all respects to recommend parlaying your money on this run of the mill flavor. Color me unimpressed. I am only willing to rate this flavor a 6/10, as it delivers nothing but sweetness. Gentlemen?

Written by guest jerky reviewer Stéphane Leclerc

This is a very tasty jerky with a well developed flavor profile. I can taste its rich, sweet, malty flavor followed by some fruitiness and a few notes of spiciness. These flavors interact and complement each other really well. This little gem is seasoned to perfection, the saltiness is reasonable, and no other flavors attempt to steal the show. There is a light, sweet, and boozy aroma. The texture is really enjoyable, it is not oily or greasy, and it serves this type of jerky very well.

I find this jerky addictive and delicious, and the flavor, as stated on the bag, is well represented.

This is a solid 9/10 Taste Rating, and I wholeheartedly recommend this fantastic little treat to anyone who appreciates a rich, complex, and well developed flavor profile.

Here is what Mark had to say about this Tropical Sriracha brisket beef jerky flavor from Boozy Jerky “Thanks Paul and Stéphane for the candid taste reviews. I definitely side with Stéphane here. This flavor is indeed sweet tasting, but within reason for a flavor with the name ‘Tropical’ in it, which could imply it’s a teriyaki based flavor. This flavor is described as using real IPA beer, but I couldn’t detect it. No rating will be deducted because, surprisingly, the words IPA or beer are not in the flavor name.”

“As mentioned by Stéphane, the overall taste profile is well balanced, other than the sweetness. The natural flavor of beef has no hint of tasting processed and uses brisket, well known for its ability to absorb marinade. One complaint is that the Sriracha flavor is light with very little heat. I disagree with Paul that there is zero ‘wow’ factor, but I would say there is some ‘wow’ factor.”

“In closing, this large 8oz “Growler Bag” was consumed rather fast, where this jerky is addictive as heck. With Paul at a 6 rating, Stéphane at a 9 rating, and me at an 8.5 rating, a Good (8/10) taste rating will be awarded.”

This 8 ounce/224 gram bag of jerky sells online for $23.99. That works out to $3.00 an ounce, which rates as a cheap price.

Bag Review

This black, resealable plastic bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The logo of the Boozy Jerky displays what could be construed as a drunk cow’s head. There is also a drunk looking cow. The bag features an illustration of an IPA Beer in a glass, an orange slice, and waves.

A slogan printed on this bag could be “The Original Booze Infused Beef Jerky”. Some facts printed are “Made with Real Beer”, “Mr. Frank’s Seasonings”, “Limited Edition”, and “Partner Pairing”.

Some missing bag category is a blurb about Boozy Jerky, a soy allergen alert, barcode, and distributor address details”.

Alright (6/10) – Bag Rating
