BeefCake Jerky Co. is a bold and rapidly growing brand founded by Andrew Flair on May 1st, 2023. The brand aimed to introduce a thick and tender cut jerky that is naturally smoked, similar to what can be made at home, to the market. When developing their jerky, they noticed only a few brands sold pork jerky. So, they conducted in-house research and development and developed what they believe are the best quality, most flavorful pork and beef jerky on the market.
Since launching years ago, they have produced eight jerky flavors. Every new flavor of jerky they release on their website sells out within hours, sometimes even minutes, due to the loyal consumer base they have formed around BeefCake Jerky Co. They have sold over a million bags of beef and pork jerky on their website, and they are available in over 500 convenience and grocery stores across the US. What sets them apart from other jerky companies is their Pork Jerky and bold flavors! This BeefCake Jerky Co. brand is distributed under the same name as BeefCake Jerky Co., and it is located in Omaha, Nebraska.
The next review on BeefCake Jerky Co. will focus on a 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of their Original flavored beef jerky. This flavor is designed to taste like it was smoked in your neighbor’s garage, being tender and full of flavor. The jerky was kindly submitted for review by Customer Support/Influencer Outreach, Dustin Hunt.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Water, Brown Sugar, Honey, Salt, Contains 2% or Less of the Following: Natural Spices, Natural Flavorings.
This beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade used here is comprised of water and healthy honey.
The only healthy ingredients added are natural spices. The vague term natural flavorings is listed, which can contain both healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
The sugar is high at 7 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 3 grams of sugar or under. The salt level is high at 460mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose another rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservatives used are salt and cultured celery powder to a lesser extent. Admirably, there is no MSG added.
Decent (7/10) – Ingredient Rating

BEEFCAKE JERKY Co. – Original Beef Jerky
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell natural beef, and nothing much else. The jerky is small to medium in size, and it is sliced rather thick. The jerky has a bit of fat on some of the pieces, and the hue is lighter than usual. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky I taste salt, sweet, and pepper, all at decent levels. Garlic and onion are also noticeable, but to a lesser degree. It tastes like a vintage original recipe, and the fat augments the flavor. Fat always seems to absorb more of the flavor, more of the marinade, so the flavor is enhanced with the bits of fat.
I have no qualms with this flavor, it is exactly as an original flavor should taste. he only reason I am rating it 9/10 is that it lacks the “Wow!!” factor. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Original beef jerky flavor from BeefCake Jerky Co.: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. I mostly agree with everything that Paul stated. As advertised, this jerky is fairly soft and tender. The fat is appreciated for accentuating the natural flavor of beef. However, the beef does have a slightly processed taste. There is a nice smoked flavor in the background that blends in well.”
“As Paul stated, there is some sweetness present, which is arguably too sweet. The overall taste profile is simple but effective, with no single taste standing out other than the natural beef flavor, just the way it should be for an Original flavor. I agree with Paul that this flavor lacks a ‘wow’ factor. With Paul at a 9 and myself at an 8, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of beef jerky sells online for $8.99. That works out to $3.33 an ounce, which rates as an average price.

Bag Review
This black, resealable plastic bag has everything imprinted on the bag, both on the front and the back. The logo of the BeefCake Jerky Co. has a bull’s head.
Some slogans printed could be “Real Jerky For Real Men” and “No Bullsh*t”. Some facts printed are “Premium Jerky”, “9g Protein”, and “80 Calories”.
The only missing bag category is the distributor address details. A QR code is displayed on the back. You are encouraged to follow BeefCake Jerky Co. on Instagram and Facebook. A small but good blurb about this jerky is printed on the back.
