BeefCake Jerky Co. is a bold and rapidly growing brand founded by Andrew Flair on May 1st, 2023. The brand aimed to introduce a thick and tender cut jerky that is naturally smoked, similar to what can be made at home, to the market. When developing their jerky, they noticed only a few brands sold pork jerky. So, they conducted in-house research and development and developed what they believe is the best quality, most flavorful pork and beef jerky on the market.
Since launching years ago, they have produced eight jerky flavors. Every new flavor of jerky they release on their website sells out within hours, sometimes even minutes, due to the loyal consumer base they have formed around BeefCake Jerky Co. They have sold over a million bags of beef and pork jerky on their website, and they are available in over 500 convenience and grocery stores across the US. What sets them apart from other jerky companies is their Pork Jerky and bold flavors! This BeefCake Jerky Co. brand is distributed under the same name as BeefCake Jerky Co., and it is located in Omaha, Nebraska.
The next review on BeefCake Jerky Co. will focus on a 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of their Sweet Heat flavored pork jerky. This flavor is described as first, it’s sweet, then it’s spicy. The jerky was kindly submitted for review by Customer Support/Influencer Outreach, Dustin Hunt.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Pork, Water, Honey, Brown Sugar, Contains 2% or Less of the Following: Salt, Natural Flavorings, Natural Spices, Cultured Celery Powder.
The pork used is guaranteed to be raised ethically with no antibiotics and no added hormones. This pork is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to roam about outside. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The liquid marinade used here is comprised of water and healthy honey.
The only healthy ingredients added are natural spices. The vague term natural flavorings is listed, which can contain both healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
The sugar is a little high at 6 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 5 grams of sugar or under for a sweet based flavor as we have here. The salt level is high at 470mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose another rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservatives used are salt and cultured celery powder to a lesser extent. Admirably, there is no MSG added.
Decent (7/10) – Ingredient Rating

BEEFCAKE JERKY CO. – SWEET HEAT PORK JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell natural pork, and nothing much else. The jerky is small to medium in size, and it is sliced rather thick. The jerky has a bit of fat on some of the pieces, and the hue is lighter than usual. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I taste salt, sweet, and pepper, all at decent levels. Garlic and onion are also noticeable, but to a lesser degree. It tastes like a vintage original recipe, and the fat augments the flavor. Fat always seems to absorb more of the flavor, more of the marinade, so the flavor is enhanced with the bits of fat.
I have no qualms with this flavor, it is exactly how a sweet & spicy flavor should taste. The only reason I am rating it 9/10 is that it lacks the “Wow!!” factor. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Sweet Heat pork jerky flavor from BeefCake Jerky Co.: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. This flavor delivers exactly as advertised. It starts sweet and then gets spicy. The heat is at a decent level. On a heat scale, the heat rates a 2 out of 4. I found the overall taste profile to be fairly simple but very effective. The spices are subtle but blend in beautifully, where no flavors stick out other than the heat and sweetness.”
“The natural pork flavor does not taste processed and is a welcome change from the normal beef. As advertised, this texture is tender, making it easy to chew. I was quite impressed with this flavor, where I cannot find a single fault. As Paul noted, it lacks in ‘wow’ factor, but for me, only a little bit. This jerky was addictive, and my portion was consumed rather quickly, leaving me wanting more. With Paul at an 8 and myself at a 9.5, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of beef jerky sells online for $8.99. That works out to $3.33 an ounce, which rates as an average price.

Bag Review
This black, resealable plastic bag has everything imprinted on the bag, both on the front and the back. The logo of the BeefCake Jerky Co. has a bull’s head.
Some slogans printed could be “Real Jerky For Real Men” and “No Bullsh*t”. Some facts printed are “Premium Jerky”, “9g Protein”, and “100 Calories”.
The only missing bag category is the distributor address details. A QR code is displayed on the back. You are encouraged to follow BeefCake Jerky Co. on Instagram and Facebook. A small but good blurb about this jerky is printed on the back.
