BeefCake Jerky Co. is a bold and rapidly growing brand founded by Andrew Flair on May 1st, 2023. The brand aimed to introduce a thick and tender cut of jerky that is naturally smoked, similar to what can be made at home, to the market. When developing their jerky, they noticed only a few brands sold pork jerky. So, they conducted in-house research and development and developed what they believe is the best quality, most flavorful pork and beef jerky on the market.
Since launching years ago, they have produced eight jerky flavors. Every new flavor of jerky they release on their website sells out within hours, sometimes even minutes, due to the loyal consumer base they have formed around BeefCake Jerky Co. They have sold over a million bags of beef and pork jerky on their website, and they are available in over 500 convenience and grocery stores across the US. What sets them apart from other jerky companies is their Pork Jerky and bold flavors! This BeefCake Jerky Co. brand is distributed under the same name as BeefCake Jerky Co., and it is located in Omaha, Nebraska.
The next review on BeefCake Jerky Co. will focus on a 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of their Peppered flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as keeping the same level of homemade smoky flavor you find in their original but ramped up with cracked pepper and whole peppercorns. The jerky was graciously submitted for review by Customer Support/Influencer Outreach, Dustin Hunt.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Water, Brown Sugar, Honey, Salt, Contains 2% or Less of the Following: Natural Spices, Natural Flavorings, Cultured Celery Powder.
This beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade used here is comprised of water and healthy honey.
The only healthy ingredients added are natural spices. The vague term natural flavorings is listed, which can contain both healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
The sugar is high at 7 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 3 grams of sugar or under. The salt level is high at 500mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose another rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservatives used are salt and cultured celery powder to a lesser extent. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
BEEFCAKE JERKY CO. – PEPPERED BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell very little, possibly very light vinegar and ever so slight pepper. The pieces are medium in both size and thickness. The jerky is reasonably rigid and chewy, similar to what our forefathers intended. The jerky leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I immediately taste pepper at a great level. I also taste salt and sweetness, both at reasonable levels, along with mild garlic and onion.
This particular taste experience is favorable. The pepper is definitely the dominant flavor in this brand of jerky, but it is merely lacking the “Wow!” factor. It is great taste, but no “Wow!”, so a 9/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Peppered beef jerky flavor from BeefCake Jerky Co.: “Thanks Paul for the candid taste review. I somewhat agree with what Paul stated. While the black pepper is certainly noticeable, I would not say it is dominant, but at an acceptable level. Regarding the sweetness, I found it to be too sweet tasting, where sweetness is largely unneeded with a black pepper based flavor, especially when it’s chiefly brown sugar sweetness.”
“The natural beef flavor does taste slightly processed, which is a bit of a turn off. The overall taste profile is relatively simple, with sugar, saltiness, and black pepper as the most prevalent flavors. I agree with Paul that there is no ‘Wow’ factor present, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. With Paul at a 9 and me at an 8, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.7 ounce/77 gram bag of beef jerky sells online for $8.99. That works out to $3.33 an ounce, which rates as an average price.

Bag Review
This black, resealable plastic bag has everything imprinted on the bag, both on the front and the back. The logo of the BeefCake Jerky Co. has a bull’s head.
Some slogans printed could be “Real Jerky For Real Men” and “No Bullsh*t”. Some facts printed are “Premium Jerky”, “9g Protein”, and “80 Calories”.
The only missing bag category is the distributor address details. A QR code is displayed on the back. You are encouraged to follow BeefCake Jerky Co. on Instagram and Facebook. A small but good blurb about this jerky is printed on the back.
