As part of our annual commitment to update the cheap, average, and expensive prices in the jerky industry, here is our third annual August 2019 jerky prices update. Our Jerky Price Update (July 2017) and Jerky Price Update (August 2018) posts every month registers in the top 10 pages visited at Jerky Ingredients according to Google Analytics. We appear to have helped set the jerky industry price standards.
Jerky Reviews Published To Date: 1179 (August 6/2019 – 742)
For the most part, jerky price ranges are established on the median price rather than the mean price. We now have over 700 jerky reviews published to date, with plenty of jerky bags to analyse and study inside a MySQL database. 108 jerky reviews have been published within the last 12 months since we last updated the jerky price ranges, which is what this latest 2019 jerky price update was based on. Bird, game, and exotic jerky was researched externally.
The price of beef jerky remains unchanged this year. The median price of beef jerky was $2.66 per ounce of jerky, which is smack dab in the middle of our Average beef jerky price range of $2.41 – $2.90. For that matter, surprisingly, only the bison jerky price range was updated. Other than that, none of the other jerky price ranges have changed this year. No real inflation added in 2019.
Here is a summary of what has changed since August 30/2018 to August 8/2019.
- Bison jerky increased 50 cents per price range, plus the average price range was expanded
- A new sausage range of prices was added
- A new white fish range of prices was added
- A new biltong range of prices was added
Below is an extensive list of jerky prices for the types of jerky that we have reviewed. Not really captured here is that the price of jerky is normally reduced when sold in larger quantities. These prices are more or less based on a 2.75 ounce per bag of jerky.
