Face De Beu Foods would like to restore the nobility of jerky, often seen as fast food filled with salt and preservatives. Even though their jerky is safe to eat after 12 months, their goal is regularly to renew production to offer fresh jerky. We will inevitably have to reduce our meat consumption and choose our products better soon. Their philosophy is to eat less, eat better. Jerky « Face de Beu » meets this definition.
Jerky is Face De Beu Foods’ flagship product, but they also offer ready-to-smoke meat products for BBQ lovers. Smoked meat, pork belly, and turkey breast are part of their offerings, and spices are used in their jerky. They present a podcast every week related to BBQ. « Trip bouffe BBQ » on Facebook, Twitch, and YouTube. A weekly show for BBQ lovers but also microbrewery and distillery enthusiasts.
The orange coloured spice displayed is a traditional BBQ spice ideal for chicken. The green coloured spice is perfect for salad, fish, vegetable sauce, and especially fries and mashed potatoes. The steak spice is for grilling. This Face De Beu Jerky brand name is located in Quebec City, Quebec, Canada, and is distributed by Les Ailments Face De Beu Jerky.
The next review for Face De Beu Jerky will focus on a 2.1 ounce/60 gram bag of their Ketchup flavored beef jerky. This flavour is described as using its own BBQ spice blend. President/Owner/Managing Director Antoine Trudel kindly submitted the jerky for review.

FACE DE BEU JERKY – KETCHUP BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I definitely smell the barbecue flavour. The pieces themselves are small to medium in size yet sliced rather thin. The jerky is tough enough to chew and tasty enough to enjoy. I am detecting salt, light sweet, garlic, onion, definitely the predominant ketchup flavour, it is quite prevalent.
Face De Beu, take a bow. I am a new disciple to your ketchup flavour, much as I am to ketchup flavoured chips, as mentioned in one of the other taste reviews. I have absolutely no qualms about giving this flavour a resounding 10/10, good, no, GREAT job Face De Beu!! A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍

The Face de Beu Ketchup Beef Jerky has an excellent aroma and texture. There is also a welcome slight spiciness on the finish. The “POP” and richness of flavour, normally expected with such tomato based and especially with ketchup flavours are MIA.
In my own humble opinion, this unapologetic burst of flavour is what makes snacks such as ketchup flavoured chips so popular and a Signature flavour only available in the True North once Strong and Free.
I’ve enjoyed this Face de Beu Ketchup Beef Jerky, and I wished there would be more of a vinegar/acidity distinction and a balance with a hint of sweetness and smokiness. This would in turn create a deeper and more complex flavour profile. I’d rate this jerky an 8 and possibly 9/10.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Ketchup beef jerky flavor from Face De Beu Jerky: “Thanks Stéphane and Paul for the honest taste reviews. I lean towards Stéphane here. The strips straight out of the bag have a great fragrance emanating that could pass as ketchup. Unfortunately, the smell of the strips does not necessarily translate to the taste. Not that these jerky strips taste bad or anything, but something seems to be missing.”
“While I would not say the BBQ flavour is totally missing in action, one could say that the barbecue/ketchup aspect could be dialed up with a little more boldness, including some acidity from vinegar. The natural black angus beef flavour is spot on. With Paul at a 10 rating and Stéphane and myself at an 8 rating, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 2.1 ounce/60 gram bag of jerky sells for $8.99. That works out to $4.28 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.

Bag Review
This white colored non-resealable bag has everything imprinted directly on the bag, both on the front and back. The bag is vacuum sealed, the best way to keep jerky fresh tasting.
A slogan printed on this bag is “Mangez Moinns Mais Mangez Mieux” (Eat Less But Eat Better). Some facts printed on this bag are “100% Natural Canadian Beef”, “180 Calories”, “32g Protein”, “2g of Low Fat”, “6g of Sugar”, and “540mg of Salt”.
Some missing bag categories are distributor address details, a Canadian Department of Agriculture (CDA) inspected stamp, no English translations, and a blurb about the jerky flavour or brand.
