Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef (Top Round), Soy Sauce (Water, Soybeans, Salt), Brown Sugar, Pineapple Juice, Honey, Water, Tabasco Sauce (Vinegar, Red Peppers, Salt), Carolina Reaper Chili Pepper, Garlic, Red Chili Pepper, Onion, Liquid Smoke, White Pepper, Black Pepper, Ginger. Allergen Warnings: Soy, Wheat
The cattle are guaranteed to have partial free range access to graze on grass. The cattle are also ethically raised, meaning that the cows receive no growth hormones or additional antibiotics. As a result, the ingredient rating starts at a Very Good (9/10) rating.
We have a busy liquid marinade comprised of an alright brand of
soy sauce, healthy pineapple juice, healthy honey, water, well-respected Tabasco sauce, and liquid smoke.
A number of healthy ingredients are added, such as garlic, onion, white pepper, black pepper, and ginger. The heat is achieved from super hot Carolina Reaper chili peppers and red chili pepper, where hot peppers are healthy if eaten in moderation, which flushes toxins out of the body.
The sugar level is fairly high at 7 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 4 grams of sugar or less per 28 grams of sugar for a hot based flavor, as we have here. The salt level is also fairly high at 510mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose another rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite added. Instead, salt is the main preservative. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

JERKY.COM – CAROLINA REAPER BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell what I believe to be either soy or vinegar, but not much else. The jerky is between hard and soft. The jerky is sliced rather thin, and it leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky I am met with decent salt, mild sweet, faint garlic and onion, decent pepper, and a massive kick of heat. WOW!!, the heat factor with the Carolina Reaper is intense!! I only ate a small piece, but my mouth is on fire!!
I am sure I cannot eat all this jerky in one sitting, it is just too hot (spicy). There is no false advertising here, it states Carolina Reaper, and it certainly has delivered.
I can find nothing wrong with this flavor, it is just as advertised. A definitive 10/10.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Carolina Reaper beef jerky flavor from Jerky.com: “Thanks Paul for the flattering taste review. I 100% concur. We have reviewed Carolina Reaper flavors multiple times. They are arguably the hottest hot peppers in the world, and too often, they are not hot enough or sometimes too hot. That is not the case here, where the heat is arguably at a perfect level with that beautiful, familiar burn. The heat level could rate a 4 out of 5 on the heat scale, and for many people a 4 out of 4.”
“The natural beef flavor is at a good level with no hint of tasting processed. Apart from the heat, there is a very pleasant, well-balanced taste profile in the background. I can add that there is a mild to medium level of soy present. Over the years, Paul has grown to become very finicky about sweetness. I could argue that this flavor tastes too sweet, but I will give that a pass because Paul raised no alarms, and the sweetness offsets the heat to a certain extent. A unanimous, well deserved Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded. Two thumbs up!!👍👍”
This 2.5 ounce/71 gram bag sells online for $10.99, which equates to $4.40 an ounce. That rates as an expensive price.
