Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Soy Sauce (Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Salt, Corn Syrup Solids, Caramel Color), Water, Brown Sugar, Worcestershire Sauce (Distilled White Vinegar, Molasses, Corn Syrup, Water, Salt, Caramel Color, Garlic Powder, Sugar, Spices, Tamarind, Natural Flavor, Sulfiting Agent), Vinegar, Garlic, Lemon Pepper. Allergen Warnings: Soy
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade is comprised of a poor brand of soy sauce, water, an alright brand of Worcestershire sauce, and healthy vinegar.
Some healthy ingredients added are garlic and lemon pepper.
The sugar level is acceptable at 2 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is very high at 620mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar preservative. Instead, salt is the main preservative. This jerky does not qualify to have no MSG added because the cheap, highly processed flavor enhancer hydrolyzed soy protein is used in the soy sauce to lose a rating.

BEEF JERKY EXPERIENCE – LEMON PEPPER BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I immediately smell the lemon. The pieces are medium in size and sliced rather thin. The jerky tough texture is impeccable, precisely as our forefathers intended.
When I bite into the jerky, I taste an excellent level of both salt and pepper, along with light sweetness and mild garlic and onion. I taste the lemon and the pepper in the forefront, along with the salt. The rest of the ingredients are noticeable, but not nearly as prevalent. I am very much enjoying this flavor, it hits all the right notes, comes exactly as advertised, has a fantastic texture, and is a slam dunk 10/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Lemon Pepper beef jerky flavor from Beef Jerky Experience: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. I would not say an excellent level of black pepper, but it is certainly noticeable. I wouldn’t say the lemon flavor is in the forefront either. What is in the forefront is a strong marinade, which includes a strong flavor of soy.”
“The natural flavor of beef has no hint of tasting processed. I would not say these strips are sliced thin, but more of a medium thickness. This jerky is no doubt enjoyable but lacks lemon flavor and could arguably have a higher level of black pepper. With Paul at a 10 and myself at an 8.5, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 3 ounce/85 gram bag sells at the Beef Jerky Experience store for $14.99. That works out to $5.00 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
