Boozy Jerky is a distinctive beef jerky brand that artfully combines tender cuts of meat with the rich flavors of craft beer and spirits. Founded in 2018 by two seasoned entrepreneurs with backgrounds in private label jerky production for wineries and breweries, as well as direct-to-consumer jerky subscriptions, the company set out to create a product that stands apart from traditional offerings. Rejecting the idea of producing another generic jerky, they focused on innovation, infusing their products with unique alcoholic flavors to enhance the snacking experience.
Each variety of Boozy Jerky is marinated for 24 to 48 hours in carefully selected craft beers or spirits, such as pilsners, IPAs, lagers, or bourbon, and then seasoned with complementary spices. This meticulous process results in jerky that is not only flavorful but also tender and easy to chew. Notably, while real alcohol is used in the marination process, the final product contains no residual alcohol, making it safe for all ages. The jerky is also gluten-free, high in protein, and suitable for various dietary preferences, including keto and paleo diets.
Boozy Jerky delivers a premium product that appeals to both meat snack enthusiasts and craft beverage aficionados by focusing on small-batch production and using locally sourced craft beers. Their commitment to quality and innovation has positioned them as a unique player in the meat snack industry. This Boozy Jerky brand is distributed under the name Boozy Jerky, LLC, and it is located in Otsego, Minnesota. The jerky is manufactured by Boyd Specialties, located in Colton, California.

The liquid marinade used here is comprised of healthy maple syrup, a decent brand of teriyaki sauce, not so healthy beer, and a well-respected brand of Worcestershire sauce.
Some healthy ingredients added are Montreal steak spice, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and ground pepper.
The sugar level is acceptable at 3 grams of sugar per 28 grams. The salt level is reasonable at 240mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservative used is salt. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
BOOZY JERKY – MONTREAL MAPLE SPICE BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell something sweet. Nothing else. The jerky is soft and moist, the opposite of what our forefathers intended. Not a solid start. The jerky is sliced to a medium thickness, and the slices are rather ordinary in size. There is oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I taste salt at a high level, and the sweetness is decent but a little too high for my liking. I also taste pepper and garlic, but at lower levels, as well as a very discernible kick, more intense than I had originally anticipated. A big plus.
As I consume more, I am picking up on the significant kick, it is trying to atone for the texture and moisture, and it’s doing a good job, but not enough to warrant anything higher than an 8/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Montreal Maple Spice brisket beef jerky flavor from Boozy Jerky “Thanks Paul for the straightforward taste review. Starting with the texture, this is a non-issue. The cut of beef brisket is used, which is highly respected for its ability to absorb the marinade very well. There is a lot going on with this flavor, which is quite bold tasting, something that we favor. I cannot say I distinctly tasted the maple flavor, but as Paul stated, it is a sweet tasting flavor, but not overly sweet tasting. Montreal steak spice is one of my favorite blends of spices and certainly adds a myriad of flavors to the taste profile.”
“As Paul stated, there is an unexpected kick to this flavor. This is surprising as nowhere on the bag does it state that this is a spicy flavor. The heat would rate 2 out of 4, or, for some, 2 out of 5 on the heat scale. The heat is welcome for us but would not be for everybody. This flavor was anything but boring, highly enjoyable, but arguably, there is too much going on with this taste profile. With Paul at an 8 and myself at a 9, a Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 8 ounce/224 gram bag of jerky sells online for $23.99. That works out to $3.00 an ounce, which rates as a borderline cheap price.
Bag Review
This black, resealable plastic bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The logo of the Boozy Jerky displays what could be construed as a drunk cow’s head. There is also a drunk looking cow. The bag features an illustration of an IPA Beer in a glass, an orange slice, and waves.
A slogan printed on this bag could be “The Original Booze Infused Beef Jerky”. Some facts printed are “Made with Real Beer”, “Pairs Best Lagers”, “Limited Edition”, and “Partner Pairing”.
Some missing bag categories are a blurb about Boozy Jerky and soy/wheat/anchovy allergen alerts.”
