CJ’s Dehydrated Products Inc. debuted their Jerk My Meat jerky brand in February 2022. They produce a variety of Beef Jerky, Trail Mixes, Dehydrated Fruits, and Spices. Owners Joe and Corey were both born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and have been friends for over 15 years. Both were in the Canadian Armed Forces, and both have culinary backgrounds. They bring a unique flavour to their company.
Joe and Corey have a love for the outdoors and an even greater love for traveling and experiencing new adventures. During one of their adventures away with their wives to the Caribbean, they discovered a love for their main product (JERKY!) and wanted to share it with others.
Jerk My Meat debuted its store on 518 Queen Street East in downtown Sault Ste. Marie in September. I had the opportunity to visit their store, where I have positive expectations for them. This Jerk My Meat jerky brand name is located in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, Canada, and is distributed under the name of CJ’s Dehydrated Products Inc.
The first review for Jerk My Meat will focus on a 3.5 ounce/99 gram bag of their Original flavored beef jerky. This flavour is described as being made with local beef, natural flavours, and low in salt and sugar content with no MSG. The jerky was kindly submitted by co-owner Joe.

Ingredients: Beef, Salt, Spices, Citric Acid.
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
There is no liquid marinade used here. Some people would call this old fashioned jerky or a jerky rub.
There is no nutritional facts table provided. As a result, the exact amounts of salt and sugar are unknown.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. To a lesser degree, citric acid acts as a preservative. Commendably, there is no MSG added.

JERK MY MEAT – ORIGINAL BEEF JERKY

When I open the bag I smell both soy and natural beef. The pieces are small but thick, and the jerky is dry and semi-chewy, pretty much exactly as our forefathers intended.
When I bite into the morsels, I am met with strong salt, which I love, next to no sweetness, which I also love, as well as a delectable pepper flavour, with slight onion in the background. I also pick up on an abundance of natural beef.
Well gentlemen, I raved enthusiastically about our last reviewed original flavoured jerky, and I’m about to do exactly the same for this original flavour.
They’re both spectacular in their own way, with strong scrumptious flavours exhibiting themselves in spades. I cannot award a 10/10 to the last one and not award another 10/10 to this one. Kudos to Jerk My Meat. DEEE-LICIOUS!!!!!!😋👍

Jerk My Meat – Original Beef Jerky – I was a bit surprised by this jerky’s deep red hue. However, the aroma and flavor are splendid, and I quickly forgot the detail. There is a myriad of great flavors; the flavor profile is well balanced and delicious. As I take a bite and then another, this little marvel becomes more and more addictive. This is a wonderful representation of an Original flavor, and it is masterfully delivered.
Jerk my Meat Beef Jerky is a simple jerky with incredible taste and flavor. It truly deserves a 10/10 Taste Rating.

For the most part, I agree with your taste reviews. While this original flavor tasted very good, I had no real ‘wow’ factor although close. As it should be with an original flavour, the natural beef flavour is at the forefront. The deep red hue of these jerky strips is a telltale sign that sodium nitrite was used but not listed in the ingredient list.”

This resealable black coloured bag has labels attached to the front and back. The Jerk My Meat logo is a caricature of the owners, Joe and Corey.
There are no slogans printed on this bag. The only fact stated is “Prepared And Packaged At: Bruni’s Fine Foods”.
Some missing bag categories are a blurb printed about this jerky, the jerky weight, a Canadian Department of Agriculture stamp, a nutritional facts table, a company website, distributor address details, barcode, best before date, and French translations. Admirably, phone numbers are provided for customer inquiries.
