The next review for Day Drinkin’ Jerky will be on a 3 ounce/85 gram bag of their Raspberry Chipotle Bourbon BBQ flavored beef jerky. It is described as a non-spicy raspberry BBQ with a small hint of chipotle to brighten all the flavors up. This bag was graciously submitted for review by the owner, John Day. The Day Drinkin’ Jerky name come from 2 facts: 1) John’s last name is Day, 2) All marinades have an alcohol as a primary ingredient.
This Day Drinkin’ Jerky brand is distributed by Day Drinkin’ Jerky Co. They are located in Topeka, Kansas, and this jerky brand was launched in 2015. This interesting liquid marinade is comprised of bourbon, ketchup, very healthy apple cider vinegar, healthy olive oil, a very good Worcestershire sauce, and lime juice. The jerky drying process removes all of the alcohol content.
Raspberries are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. The super healthy vegetable garlic is used. Other healthy ingredients used are black pepper, onion powder, thyme, and sage.
The heat is achieved from the chili powder, red pepper, and jalapeno peppers. Hot peppers are healthy if eaten in moderation, which flushes toxins out of the body.
There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the exact sugar and salt levels are unknown.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservative used is kosher salt, which is somewhat less processed compared to table salt. Commendably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
These strips of jerky are mostly large in size, and sliced to a mixture of medium and thin. They have a dry texture, and are relatively easy to chew. There are no visible signs of fat, and handling this jerky leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
The first taste detected is a mild level of lime. A light level of raspberry is present, which is unusual in jerky, but turns out to be a good addition. The garlic and black pepper are at mild levels, which complement the flavor well. While not surprising, the bourbon flavor is not detected.
As for the spiciness, it is at a faint level. On a heat scale, it would be a 1 out of 4. In the background is a light level of smoke. After consuming multiple strips, a barbecue type of flavor starts to develop. Overall, this is a complex blend of flavors that works out rather well, and tastes great.
A 3 ounce/85 gram bag sells online for $9.99. That works out to $3.33 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price. If you buy four or more bags, the shipping is free. This interesting, unique jerky flavor would pretty much appeal to everybody, including kids.

Bag Review
This large, resealable bag has labels affixed to the front and back. The front label is actually the shape of Kansas.
The slogan printed on the bag is “Small Batch, Always Smoked……….Never Dried!”.
Most of the important bag categories are covered here. Some missing categories are a nutrition facts table, jerky weight stated in grams and ounces, bar code, and a best before date. There is a batch number printed that could translate to a best before date.
