The next review for Day Drinkin’ Jerky will be on a 4 ounce/113 gram bag of their Bourbon Black Pepper flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as having soy and a bold black pepper spice that melds into a nice Bourbon brown sugar finish, which lingers on the palette. The bag was kindly submitted for review by the owner, John Day. The Day Drinkin’ Jerky name come from 2 facts: 1) John’s last name is Day, 2) All marinades have an alcohol as a primary ingredient.
This Day Drinkin’ Jerky brand is distributed by Day Drinkin’ Jerky Co. They are located in Topeka, Kansas, and this jerky brand was launched in 2015. John had been making jerky for family and friends. Having a love of fine bourbon, John joined both hobbies together. Their slogan is “Always smoked, never dried”. Always produced in small batches, it’s marinated, and slow smoked with hickory wood. For new customers making an online order, use “new10” as the coupon code for a 10% discount.

Taste Review
These strips of jerky are mostly large in size, and sliced to a mixture of medium and thin. They have a dry texture, and are relatively easy to chew. There are no visible signs of fat, and handling this jerky leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
Quickly you are greeted with a great level of black pepper. Chewing the strips more brings on a tasty blend of soy and Worcestershire sauce. A mild level of salt mixes well with the black pepper. With only a light level of sweetness, there is a good deal of natural beef flavor present.
The whiskey flavor itself is challenging to detect. Cayenne pepper from the hot sauce mixes in very well, along with a light level of garlic. A slight tanginess from the apple cider vinegar balances the flavor well. Overall, this flavor absolutely delivers on the black pepper flavor.
A 3 ounce/85 gram bag sells online for $9.99. That works out to $3.33 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price. If you buy four or more bags, the shipping is free. This jerky is a great buy for any black pepper lovers out there.
