Aufschnitt Meats was founded by two brothers-in-law with a passion to continue their family tradition, which was started in Europe over 75 years ago. Their focus is on artisanal jerky and meat sticks made in small batches. Kosher beef is used, meaning the food is allowed for consumption under Jewish dietary guidelines. This jerky is advertised to be all natural, low sugar, no MSG type of ingredients, and low in fat.

Ingredients: Beef, Corned Beef Seasoning (Sugar, Salt, Garlic Powder), BBQ Seasoning (Brown Sugar, Honey Powder, Vinegar Powder, Pineapple Juice Powder, Garlic Powder), Brown Sugar, Celery Juice Powder.
This jerky uses 100% grass-fed beef, the way nature intended. These cattle are raised ethically, meaning they are not fed growth hormones, or additional antibiotics. There is also some free range access for the cattle to roam about.
There is no liquid marinade used here. Instead, the honey, pineapple juice, and vinegar are all in powder form.
The sugar level is great at only 1 gram of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is respectable at 340mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead, the main preservative used is salt. To a lesser extent, celery juice powder acts as a preservative with its naturally occurring nitrates. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

Taste Review
These strips are small in size, and sliced to a medium thickness. The texture is on the dry side, but far from being overly dry. There is a little bit of fat in the beef, and handling this jerky leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
An interesting blend of spices is noticed first. Then quickly a high level of salt takes over, which mutes all of the other flavors. At light levels are garlic, coriander, and black pepper.
A unique taste to this flavor is the corned beef seasoning, which really does taste similar to corned beef. There is little sweetness present, but the saltiness tends to overpower the natural beef flavor. The beef itself has a somewhat processed taste and feel. Overall, this jerky has an appealing taste profile, and certainly salty tasting.
A 2 ounce/56 gram bag of jerky sells online for $6.99. That works out to $3.50 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price. This jerky is recommended for its unique flavor, and if you tend to favor salty tasting jerky.
