Ingredients: Wagyu Beef, Natural Flavorings, Salt, Sodium Citrate, Vinegar, Monosodium Glutamate, Sodium Erythorbate, Sodium Nitrite.
The beef used raised on local farms is certified Wagyu, which implies that the beef is guaranteed to use 100% grass-fed beef. Wagyu beef is a highly prized, premium beef known for its exceptional marbling, tenderness, and rich flavor. As a result, the cattle are guaranteed to have free range access and be ethically raised. Therefore, the ingredient rating starts at an Excellent (10/10) rating.
The vague term natural flavorings is listed, which can contain healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
The unhealthy flavor enhancer monosodium glutamate (MSG) is used to lose a rating.
The sugar level is excellent at 0 grams of sugar per 28 grams of beef bites. The salt level is high at 490mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite, as sodium nitrite is used outright, along with sodium erythorbate as preservatives. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

BEEFCAKE JERKY CO. – ORIGINAL WAGYU BEEF BITES

When I open the bag I smell next to nothing, possibly light vinegar, nothing else. The bites are basically a pepperette, or meat stick, chopped into small pieces. The pieces are roundish, soft, easy to chew, and a bit moist. There is some oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the “bites” I taste an excellent level of salt, an equal level of pepper, minimal to zero sweetness, and a solid level of garlic. There may very well be some vinegar in these bites, not entirely sure.
Overall, I am quite impressed with this flavor of “bites”, they are very bloody tasty. I can find no complaint except the lack of rigidity of these morsels. A very enthusiastic 9/10 for this delectable treat. Gentlemen?

We are in complete agreement here except for the lack of rigidity, which is inherent in all meat sticks. There is not much else that I can add to this taste review. The original flavor comes through well, where the star of the show is the natural flavor of highly prized Wagyu beef. While there is some ‘wow’ factor, I would not say there is a complete ‘wow’ factor present. A unanimous Very Good (9/10) taste rating will be awarded to these delectable Wagyu beef bites.”
