SRF – American Wagyu Beef Jerky

Tuesday, March 31, 2026 Leave a Comment

SRF - American Wagyu Beef JerkySRF (Snake River Farms) is a premium American meat brand best known for pioneering American Wagyu beef, combining Japanese Wagyu genetics with traditional U.S. ranching to produce richly marbled, highly flavorful beef. Founded as part of the Agri Beef family owned business, SRF has built a reputation for vertically integrated production, overseeing everything from ranching and feeding to processing, enabling tight quality control and consistency.

Within its broader product lineup, SRF offers beef jerky made from whole muscle cuts of its signature Wagyu beef, positioning it as a premium, gourmet snack rather than a traditional mass-market jerky. The jerky is crafted with natural ingredients and emphasizes tenderness, rich flavor, and a softer texture, thanks to the higher fat content and marbling of Wagyu beef, often seasoned with simple blends like soy, garlic, and spices to highlight the meat itself.

Overall, SRF’s jerky reflects the brand’s core philosophy of elevating everyday meat products through superior sourcing and craftsmanship, targeting consumers who are willing to pay more for a high end, restaurant quality snacking experience rooted in quality, traceability, and flavor innovation.

This SRF jerky brand is distributed under the name of Snake River Farms, located in Boise, Idaho. This jerky is manufactured by Oberto Snacks Inc., and is located in Kent, Washington.

The first review on SRF will focus on a 2.2 ounce/62 gram bag of American Wagyu beef jerky. This flavor is described as the perfect balance between the famous Wagyu buttery marbling and robust beef flavor, elevating your jerky to a new level. The bag was purchased at a Wegmans store in Niagara Falls, New York.

Taste Review

SRF – AMERICAN WAGYU BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell natural beef, and nothing else. The strips are medium in both size and thickness. The jerky is a bit moist, and it leaves a slight oily residue on your fingers.

When I bite into the jerky, I immediately realize I am eating a higher quality of beef, that being the Wagyu beef. Whenever I have eaten Wagyu beef, I taste superior beef, it has yet to disappoint me. The fact that it states American Wagyu is new to me, I thought all Wagyu beef was the same, or at least very similar. This does taste like an original flavor, with the salt being at a perfect level, in fact, all flavors are perfect in both flavor and intensity. I taste equal amounts of salt, sweetness, pepper, garlic, natural beef, etc., except maybe the pepper is coming across a bit more intense than the other flavors.

D*mn, this flavor is addictive, and I believe I am about to award my fourth or fifth straight 10/10, but I don’t want to lie, so a 10/10 it is. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Original Wagyu beef jerky flavor from SRF: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. Wagyu beef is considered to be one of the best types of beef in the world. I too noticed the subtle difference in this jerky having a superior, rich beef flavor. Paul later mentioned to me that some strips do have a buttery aspect to them, which I agree with.”

“The overall taste profile is relatively simple but well-balanced. I too cannot identify a problem and found this jerky to be highly addictive. A unanimous Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”

This 2.2 ounce/62 gram bag of jerky sold for $7.99, which equates to $3.63 an ounce. That rates as an average price without taking into consideration that expensive Wagyu beef is used.

Excellent (10/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This plastic, resealable bag has everything imprinted on the front and back. There is an illustration of various spices on the front.

A slogan displayed on this bag could be “World-Renowned Flavor”. Some facts printed are “7g Protein”, “130 Calories”, “No Artificial Ingredients”, “Gluten Free”, “Wagyu Beef Raised in U.S.A.”, “Naturally Wood Smoked”, “Elevating the Classic Jerky”, “No Preservatives”, “No MSG Added”, “American Wagyu”, and “Gluten Free”.

The only minor bag category missing is the jerky weight not stated in grams. A good blurb is printed on the back about this jerky.
