Vegas Select is a private label jerky and meat snack brand distributed by a family owned, full service snack distributor based in Las Vegas that supplies products to casinos, convenience stores, gift shops, and other retail outlets. Rather than positioning itself as a heritage craft jerky company, Vegas Select is designed as a value driven, high volume snack line tailored to the demands of the tourism and convenience markets, particularly in Las Vegas.
The brand offers classic, approachable flavors such as teriyaki and sweet & hot in larger format bags, focusing on broad consumer appeal and consistent availability. Products are marketed within Food Pro’s “top meat snacks” category, emphasizing strong shelf performance and accessibility rather than artisanal production methods. Overall, Vegas Select reflects a distribution first model to deliver dependable, mainstream jerky options aimed at impulse buyers and high traffic retail environments.
This Vegas Select jerky brand is distributed under the name of Food Pro Distributing, located in Las Vegas, Nevada. This jerky is manufactured by Glenwood Snacks, LLC., and is located in Saint Anthony, Idaho, making this a stock recipe.
The first review on Vegas Select will focus on a 3 ounce/85 gram bag of Peppered flavored beef jerky. This bag was purchased at a Beef Jerky Outlet store in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ingredients: Beef, Brown Sugar, Water, Natural Flavors, Less Than 2% of: Salt, Honey, Apple Juice Concentrate, Lemon Juice Concentrate, Sodium Nitrite.
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade is comprised of water, healthy honey, healthy apple juice concentrate, and healthy lemon juice concentrate.
The vague term natural flavors is listed, which can contain healthy and unhealthy ingredients.
The sugar level is sky high at 13 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 3 grams of sugar or less per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is high at 530mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose another rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite, as sodium nitrite is used outright as a preservative to lose a rating. Admirably, there is no MSG added.

VEGAS SELECT – PEPPERED BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell very little, basically nothing. The jerky is medium in both size and thickness. The jerky is dry(ish) and somewhat chewy, decent, but not as our forefathers intended. There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I taste mild salt, way too much sweetness, and while I pick up on the pepper, it is not as intense as it likely should be. The sweet is just throttling all of the other flavors, choking them into near oblivion. The beef even tastes processed.
I don’t hate this jerky, but I definitely do not love this jerky either. Too d*mn sweet, and not enough pepper. A disappointing 6/10. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Peppered beef jerky flavor from Vegas Select: “Thanks Paul for the honest taste review. Yes, very true, this jerky is annoyingly sweet. The sweetness dominates and overwhelms the overall flavor. It is a shame because there is a very good flavor in the background. The apple and lemon juice concentrate are great additions, adding life to the flavor with a light fruity aspect. It is a refreshing change not to have a soy flavor in the background.”
Paul said the beef tastes processed, but I disagree. The natural beef flavor is totally normal with no hint of tasting processed. I am on the fence with Paul, stating that the peppered level could be more intense. The peppered level is at an acceptable level, but Paul and I favor bold, tasting flavors, especially for a peppered flavor. With a peppered flavor, there is no need for sweetness, or at least at a bare minimum. With Paul at a 6 and myself at a 7.5, a Decent (7/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 3 ounce/85 gram bags of jerky sold for $7.99, which equates to $2.66 an ounce. That rates as a cheap price.
Bag Review
This clear plastic resealable bag has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. There is an illustration of Las Vegas on the front.
There are no slogans printed on this bag. Some facts printed are “Made with Real Wood Smoke”, “No MSG”, and “Gluten Free”.
The only missing bag category is a blurb about this jerky or flavor. To the credit of Vegas Select, a phone number is provided for customer inquiries.
