Fortunately, evaporated cane syrup is the primary sweetener used, which is one of the better sweeteners out there. The salt level is quite high at 490mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less.

The first taste detected is a mild garlic flavor. There is a fair amount of natural turkey flavor. The soy taste is light, and there is a moderately sweet taste. As you eat more strips, the garlic level stays mild, but just strong enough for a flavor advertised to be garlic based. Occasionally, there is a faint peppery taste.
The lemon taste is mild, although inconsistent. There is a noticeable taste difference between the slices that are sliced thick, compared to the thin slices. The lemon taste is more noticeable in the thin slices surface, and not so much in the thick slices. Overall, this jerky is tasty, but the lemon and garlic combination is better with the thin slices.
