The next review for Moses Family Jerky will be on a 3.25 ounce/93 gram bag of their teriyaki flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as having soy, garlic, a little onion, and a whole lot of perfectly dehydrated beef. The jerky bag was graciously submitted for review by the president, Dakotah Moses.

The beef used here is guaranteed to be ethically raised, meaning free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. These cattle also are guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to roam about. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The marinade is comprised of water, healthy vinegar, and somewhat healthy mirin.
Some healthy ingredients are used such as spices, sesame seeds, and anchovies.
The sugar level is reasonable at 4 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky for a sweet based flavor as we have here. The salt level is high at 460mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite added, or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead salt is the main preservative, plus citric acid and vinegar act as preservatives to a lesser degree.
This flavor does not qualify to be MSG free, because the highly processed cheap flavor enhancer hydrolyzed soy protein is used.

Taste Review
Written by guest jerky reviewer Stéphane Leclerc
Wow! This is an outstanding jerky, it is definitely a kicked up version of Teriyaki flavoring and a well crafted flavor by the Moses Family Jerky . This is not the usual overly sweet traditional Teriyaki. I still find some subtle teriyaki notes sprinkled throughout these strips like angel dust. However, the flavor profile has the feel of a more refined and sophisticated flavor.
These strips are like a party in your mouth. The flavors are on point and a perfect harmony and balance between the acidity, the sweetness and a slight spicy kick. The freshness of this jerky is really what makes the flavor shine and the wonderful texture sings a heavenly melody.
The aroma is exquisite with the vinegar being slightly accentuated. The beef is lean and its beautiful taste comes through in every bite, the flavors are rich and the texture is very pleasant and tender.
The Moses Family are really taking the Teriyaki jerky experience to the next level, I highly recommend this great jerky as it is clearly and easily a 10/10.
A 3.25 ounce/93 gram bag sells online for $8.00. That works out to $2.46 an ounce, which rates as an average price. Currently, three bags are offered for $20.
