Ingredients: Beef, Water, Sugar, Vinegar, Salt, Less Than 2% Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Molasses, Corn Syrup, Spices, Natural Flavoring, Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor, Anchovies (fish), Soybeans, Citric Acid. Allergen Warnings: Anchovies, Soy
The beef used here is guaranteed to be ethically raised, meaning free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. These cattle also are guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to roam about. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The marinade is comprised of only water and healthy vinegar.
Some healthy ingredients are used such as spices and anchovies.
The sugar level is decent at 3 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is acceptable at 330mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite added, or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead salt is the main preservative, plus citric acid and vinegar act as preservatives to a lesser degree.
This flavor does not qualify to be MSG free, because the highly processed cheap flavor enhancer hydrolyzed soy protein is used.

Well! It’s official, it’s a Home Run. The Moses Family Jerky has done it again and as expected their original flavor is amazing at every level.
The first whiff filled my nose with a beautiful aroma of hickory smokiness and acidity from the vinegar. I then immediately knew, I was in for a really tasty snack. Indeed, what a picnic this was, I took a little bite and chewed really well to uncover all these flavors and BAM! I experienced a burst of delicious flavors.
There is just the right amount of saltiness and sweetness being complemented by a tad bit of spiciness. It woke up all my taste buds like nobody’s business. The hickory smoke showed up first with subtle saltiness from the anchovies. I find the anchovies and vinegar are a great and clever addition, as it enhances the flavor profile by adding some nice and interesting flavors to the jerky. The sweetness of the molasses pairs well and balances the little kick of spices. These amazing flavors together culminate into a perfect play. I liked it so much; I barely had enough jerky left to finish my review
These strips have an exquisite pliability and are very easy to chew. The beef is seasoned and sliced to the perfect thickness. As the strip melts in your mouth, it delivers a nice meaty flavor with bold uniform flavoring.
I’ve previously tried several of The Moses Family Jerky flavors and I keep been amazed, they really know what they’re doing and they do it really well. I highly recommend their Original flavor as it is on point all the way from the taste to the texture and the aroma. This is a wonderful beef jerky treat and it easily deserves a 10/10 rating.
