As I open the Sierra Madre Provision Co. – Buffalo Wing Chicken Jerky, I quickly notice an inviting Frank’s Red Hot type of aroma emanating from the bag. The cayenne peppers are nicely fragrant and I am obviously off to a very good start …baby!
The buffalo wing flavor kicks in and it’s truly reminiscent of the real McCoy. There is a slight kick of cayenne peppers and not enough to knock anyone on their “money maker”. The garlicky flavor is subtle, the pieces are lightly salty and the acidity of the vinegar nicely brightens the flavor profile.
A mild sweetness balances and blends well with the overall flavors. The sweetness is at a reasonable level where any higher would probably become distracting. The sweetness and spiciness are both at ideal level and the natural chicken flavor comes through in every bite.
These jerky strips are medium in size and they are sliced a little thick. The texture is soft, chewy and tender. It’s pleasant, easy to chew and it carries a lot of the chicken flavor. These strips are sticky to the touch and they leave no oily residue on the fingers.
This buffalo wing flavor delivers an authentic taste of buffalo chicken wings. One may even be forgiven for confusing this chicken meaty snack and actual chicken wings with a fun and exciting jerky spin. The hot sauce and chicken flavors are both the undisputed stars of the show and certainly what a buffalo chicken wing flavor should taste like.
Paul, Mark and I all admit, we’re really enjoying this jerky. This buffalo chicken treat is addictive as heck and once we reached the bottom of the bag, we were left longing for more.
We couldn’t find any unfavorable technicalities with the Sierra Madre Provision Co. – Buffalo Wing Chicken Jerky and we’ve awarded this flavor an Excellent 10/10 taste rating.
This 3.25 ounce/92 gram bag sells for $6.99, which works out to $2.15 an ounce. That rates as a cheap price.

This is a fairly tall bag. The front is gold colored, and the back is silver colored with nothing on the back. There is a label affixed to the front, and nothing on the back. The scenic picture on this bag depicts mountains, including a few California palm trees.
There are no slogans printed on this bag. The only fact printed on this bag is “Liquid Smoke Flavoring Added”.
There are a few bag categories missing, such as a blurb about Sierra Madre Provision Co. and a nutrition facts table. Kudos to Sierra Madre Provision Co., where they provide a toll free phone number for customer inquiries.
