Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky – Flaming Hot Beef Jerky

Wednesday, January 27, 2021 Leave a Comment

Bronco Billy's Beef Jerky - Flaming Hot Beef JerkyStoney Point Farm Market is a family-owned and operated country farmers market with three generations, with over 85 years of experience providing wholesome goods – primarily fresh cut meats, locally grown produce, and prepared food and specialty items. Plus, Stoney Point Farm Market is 50% woman-owned with an SQF Level 3 USDA facility.

Stoney Point Farm Market takes great pride in having an extremely loyal customer base who appreciates its wide variety of offerings, competitive prices, and friendly service. Their farmer’s markets are conveniently located 1.5 miles southwest of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, on Route 194 South. The Markets at Hanover on Broadway in Hanover, PA, and less than ten miles away from the Gettysburg National Military Park!

This Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky brand name was trademarked in 2006. Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky was started by Joseph Arcuri, who has passed away a few years ago. Stoney Point Inc., in partnership with his wife, Kathy Arcuri has expanded and pushed the brand in its current growth, from 50 pounds a week to 10,000 pounds a week and still growing.

By no accident, Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky does resemble the formerly trendy jerky brand Wild Bill’s Beef Jerky in every facet that also originated in Pennsylvania. After Monogram Food Snacks from Tennessee acquired Wild Bill’s Beef Jerky in 2009, many loyal customers have vented to us that Monogram Food Snacks ruined their beloved Wild Bill’s Beef Jerky brand. Especially in the last four or five years with Monogram cheapening their ingredients and using non-USA beef.

Consumers have another choice with Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky to restore Pennsylvania’s pride with this Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky brand that is still Hand Cut, Hand Sliced, and Hand Packed using USDA beef. Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky is distributed under the name of Stoney Point Inc., and they are located in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

The next review on Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky will focus on a 3 ounce/85 gram bag of their Flaming Hot flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as being made with Carolina Reaper powder it is extremely hot, and extraordinarily delicious. Amanda Fowler kindly submitted this jerky for review.

Ingredient Review

Ingredients: Beef, Soy Sauce (Water, Protein Extracts from Soy Beans, Salt, Corn Syrup, Caramel Color, Potassium Sorbate), Sugar, Smoke Flavor (Liquid Smoke), Spices, Red Pepper, Carolina Reaper Powder, Garlic Powder, Cultured Dextrose.    Allergen Warnings: Soy

Bronco Billy's Beef Jerky - Flaming Hot Beef JerkyThe beef used is ethically raised, meaning it is guaranteed to be free of growth hormones and additional antibiotics. The cattle have partial free range access to roam about and graze on grass the way nature intended. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.

Bronco Billy's Beef Jerky - Flaming Hot Beef JerkyThe liquid marinade is comprised of an average brand of soy sauce and water.

Some healthy ingredients are added, such as spices, red pepper, and garlic powder. The heat is achieved using Carolina reaper powder, where hot peppers are healthy if eaten in moderation to flush toxins out of the body.

The sugar level is acceptable at 4 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky for a hot based flavor as we have here. The salt level is high at 430mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.

This jerky qualifies to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservative added. Admirably, this jerky does qualify to have no MSG added.

Good (8/10) – Ingredient Rating

Taste Review

BRONCO BILLY’S BEEF JERKY – FLAMING HOT BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell vinegar and/or soy. The jerky is dry and chewy, just the way our forefathers intended. There is no oily residue.

When I bite into the jerky I immediately detect the heat. I taste salt, at a decent level, pepper, also at a decent level, next to no sweet, along with the vinegar/soy flavor. I also pick up on lots of natural beef.

My oh my, we have a winner here!! This flavor is definitely NOT for the squeamish, keep a fire extinguisher near you at all times! This flavor might be hot enough to melt COVID! One can wish. All things aside, this is one SPICY flavor of jerky, and it has made me duly sweat profusely. A most excellent 10/10. Two thumbs way up!!👍👍. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Flaming Hot beef jerky flavor from Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the great taste review. One of the owners, Evan, warned us on a couple of occasions that this Flaming Hot flavor was very hot. Well, Evan did not disappoint, the heat in this flavor comes across in spades. With Carolina Reaper pepper powder being used, I even classified this flavor under Carolina Reaper also.”

“As with all Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky flavors, there is an awesome old-fashioned dry texture. For any heat aficionados out there, we cannot recommend this flavor enough for the heat, and to boot, it sells at a cheap price. Step aside Wild Bill’s Beef Jerky, there is a superior jerky brand with Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky in your original home state of Pennsylvania.”

This 3 ounce/85 gram bag of jerky sells online for $7.99, which works out to $2.66 an ounce. That rates as an average price. The price per ounce does go down if you order in larger quantities.

Excellent (10/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This resealable plastic bag has everything printed directly to the bag itself on both sides. There are no labels attached. The Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky logo is of the cowboy Yosemite Sam shooting two guns into the sky and a flame in the background.

A slogan printed on this bag is “We Pride Ourselves On Making Our Beef Jerky The Time Honored Tradition”. Some facts printed on this bag are “Family Owned”, “Made in USA”, “Hand Cut”, “Hand Strung”, “No Nitrates”, “No MSG”, and “Hand Packed”.

All bag categories are covered with this bag. You are encouraged to follow them on Facebook. Commendably, a phone number is provided for customer inquiries.

Excellent (10/10) – Bag Rating
