Taste Review

WILD SOCIETY – CAVEMAN EATS GRASS FED BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag I smell only natural beef. The jerky strips are large in size, sliced paper thin, quite crispy, and have copious amounts of fat. Perfect!! In size, shape, and texture, along with much fat. Couldn’t ask for more.

When I bite into the jerky strips, I taste salt at an excellent level, what I believe to be pepper, zero sweet, along with decent pepper and slight onion, but, according to Mark, the only two ingredients are sea salt and natural grass fed beef. Hmmm, my taste buds are toying with me.

As I consume more, I am picking up on that somewhat familiar “buttery” flavor, which I am in favor of. Any way you slice it (pun intended), this jerky is DA BOMB!!! Every single detail, from the shape, size, texture, and taste, this jerky is crazy delicious, a no-doubter grand slam, two very enthusiastic thumbs up, 10/10, what a treat!!👍👍 Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Caveman Eats grass-fed beef jerky flavor from Wild Society: “Thanks Paul for the glowing taste review. It is hard to disagree with anything Paul stated, this flavor is the BOMB. It is so refreshing to see liberal amounts of fat on these jerky strips. Fat accentuates the natural beef flavor to an amazing level. As Paul mentioned, occasionally the beef can have a ‘buttery’ flavor, which only comes from high quality tasting beef, which is the case here.”

“One aspect of this jerky that I absolutely love is that it is air-dried. When beef is air-dried, it takes on a melting in your mouth quality. It is very reminiscent of biltong, which is also air-dried, minus the vinegar, coriander, and other various spices. As Paul mentioned, this texture does qualify to be crispy, which happens to be my favorite texture. I too have zero complaints and have nothing but outstanding things to say about this jerky, where it’s hard to believe it’s only grass-fed beef and sea salt. A slam dunk, unanimous Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”

This 5 ounce/140 gram bag was purchased for $34.99, which works out to $7.00 an ounce. That rates as an expensive price.

Bag Review

This large, resealable plastic bag has everything imprinted on the bag on both the front and back. An illustration is displayed on the front of a caveman with several cows in the background on a large field. On the back, there is a high resolution picture of the owner TJ Dillashaw.

A slogan printed on this bag is “Snack Like a Caveman.” Some facts printed are “No Seed Oils”, “Zero Sugar”, Air-Dried”, ‘Beef Slices”, “95g Protein Per Package”, “100% USA Ranch Raised Primal Cuts of Grass-Fed Beef + Sea Salt”, “Only Premium Primal Cuts”, and “Made With 100% USA Ranch-Raised Beef”.

Some missing bag categories are a transparent window to view the jerky and a best before date. It appears that a lot number is provided, which could correspond to a best before date. On the back, there is a great blurb about Wild Society. A QR code is displayed on the back to view their products.
