Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Organic Beef**, Sea Salt, Black Pepper **, Natural Cherrywood Smoke. ** Regenerative Organic Certified
The highest standard of beef would be organic beef. That implies that the cattle are ethically raised, meaning no growth hormones or additional antibiotics are administered. There would also be at least some partial free range access to graze on grass. This organic beef is raised on StarWalker organic farms and is Regenerative Organic Certified. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is an Excellent (10/10) rating.
There is no liquid marinade used here. Some people refer to that as old fashioned jerky or a dry rub.
The only healthy ingredient added is organic black pepper.
The sugar level is perfect at 0 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is a little high at 400mg of salt per 28 grams. However, the salt level is ignored because healthy, minimally processed sea salt is used.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite. Instead, sea salt is the main preservative used. Admirably, this jerky has no MSG added.

STARWALKER ORGANIC FARMS – CHERRYWOOD SMOKED ORGANIC BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag I smell smokiness, along with sweet and possibly vinegar. The strips of jerky are both medium in size and thickness. The jerky has a dark hue, darker than usual, which typically indicates more marinade. The jerky is dry(ish) and chewy(ish). There is no oily residue left on your fingers.
When I bite into the jerky, I immediately taste a high level of salt. Thankfully, I enjoy a strong salt taste. I also taste the smokiness, as well as a hickory type flavor. Thankfully, the sweetness is mild. I’m not sure what the relevance of the cherrywood is, I don’t taste any cherry, but it is a good flavor, whatever I’m tasting. Kudos to it being organic, but of course you can’t taste the organic. I taste medium pepper and possibly a hint of vinegar in the background. The salt is definitely the most dominant flavor, but the smokiness and the pepper greatly enhance the overall flavor.
Color me impressed, this is a very delectable flavor. A hands down 10/10, in my opinion. Gentlemen?
Here is what Mark had to say about this Cherrywood Smoked organic beef jerky flavor from StarWalker Organic Farms: “Thanks Paul for the positive taste review. The flavor is dominated by salt, black pepper, and smoke. This would be reminiscent of good old fashioned jerky. Most impressive about this flavor is a good level of smokiness, which blends well in the background with the salt and pepper.”
“The natural beef flavor has no hint of tasting processed. As Paul noted, I would never have known this was organic beef. While I have no clear cut complaints about this flavor, it lacks some ‘wow’ factor to a certain degree. With Paul at a 10 and myself at a 9, an Excellent (10/10) taste rating will be awarded.”
This 3 ounce/85 gram bag of jerky was purchased for $12.99. That works out to $4.33 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
