Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Soy Sauce (Water, Wheat, Soybeans, Salt), Water, Brown Sugar, Beer (Malt, Hops, Yeast), Garlic, Onion, Spices, Liquid Smoke, Sodium Nitrite. Allergen Warnings: Soy, Wheat
The cattle used are confirmed to have about 85% free range access to graze on grass, and roam about. Based on the information provided from the fine folks at Harris Ranch, the cattle qualify enough to be ethically raised.
The liquid marinade is comprised of a decent soy sauce, water, beer, and liquid smoke. This is a standard beer ingredient list. Beer actually offers many health benefits, but should be drank in moderation.
Super healthy garlic and onion are used. The vague term of spices is listed. As a general rule, spices are extremely healthy.
No nutrition facts table is provided, so the exact sugar and salt levels are unknown. Based on the taste, it does seem a fair amount of sugar is used. The salt level seems decent.
This jerky does use unhealthy sodium nitrite as the main preservative, apart from salt. Admirably, this jerky has no MSG added.

Taste Review
These strips are mostly medium in size, and sliced to a medium thickness. This texture does qualify to be soft and tender. You could definitely say that these jerky strips are chewy. There are some visible signs of fat that contributes to the natural beef flavor. Handling this jerky leave a tiny bit of oily residue on your fingers.
The first taste detected is a mild soy flavor. It does not take long to pick up on the India Pale Ale (IPA) beer flavor. It starts off mild, and slowly increases as you consume more strips, never exceeding a moderate level. There is a mild garlic/onion level, and this flavor is lightly salted.
The sweetness is moderately strong, which is a bit too high for our liking that tends to mute the natural beef flavor. Overall, this flavor does manage to capture an India Pale Ale (IPA) beer flavor.
This 3 ounce/84 gram bag sells online for $9.95. That equates out to 3.32 an ounce, which works out to be an expensive price. While pricey, this jerky is a decent buy for people who enjoy a sweet tasting jerky, and the taste of IPA beer with a soft and tender texture.
Bag Review
This is a standard resealable plastic bag. There is a label affixed to the front. On the back there is only a price sticker.
There are no slogans or facts printed. Their official slogan is “So good you have to hide it!”. Maria did hand write “Indian Pale Ale” and “Thanks” on the label.
There are some bag categories missing such as a nutrition facts table, slogan, and jerky weight not stated in grams. Also missing is a blurb about Camouflage Dave’s and this India Pale Ale (IPA) flavor.
