Ingredients: Beef, Vinegar, Water, Salt, Sugar, Less Than 2% Habanero Peppers, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, Spices, Natural Flavoring, Corn Syrup, Molasses, Carrots, Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor, Anchovies (fish), Soybeans, Citric Acid. Allergen Warnings: Anchovies, Soy
The beef used here is guaranteed to be ethically raised, meaning free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. These cattle also are guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to roam about. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The marinade is comprised of only healthy vinegar and water. Instead of using soy sauce, soybeans are used.
Some healthy ingredients are used such as spices, carrots, and anchovies.
The sugar level is borderline high at 4 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. A spicy based flavor is allowed up to 4 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is high at 460mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky. Our preference is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite added, or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Instead salt is the main preservative, plus citric acid and vinegar act as preservatives to a lesser degree.
This flavor does not qualify to be MSG free, because the highly processed cheap flavor enhancer hydrolyzed soy protein is used.

Taste Review
Written by guest jerky reviewer Stéphane Leclerc
This is an absolute gem, I truly enjoy this jerky. It has so many great things going on. It is packed with tons of flavors. It has a superb balance between spiciness, sweetness and acidity. The seasoning and tenderness adequately showcase the meaty flavor and it really stands out with every bite. The heat is middle of the road and I love the level of spiciness as I am able to really appreciate the Habanero flavor without numbing my taste buds.
The aroma is fantastic, with the vinegar being a bit more prominent. The texture has the perfect tenderness and it really conveys all the different notes in flavor really well. There is a small amount of fat and it beautifully enhances the texture and the flavor of this jerky.
Overall, I definitely enjoyed this lovely jerky. The seasoning explodes in every bite and every strip bursts with flavor. It was obviously very cleverly developed and a lot of attention was paid to every little detail. I wholeheartedly recommend it and I would easily rate this jerky 10/10.
A 3.25 ounce/93 gram bag sells online for $8.00. That works out to $2.46 an ounce, which rates as an average price. Currently, three bags are offered for $20.
