After the Founder and CEO Tim Sotoadeh’s first visit to a local farm in 2012, he vowed never to spend another dollar on factory farmed meat again. Tim knew that ancient traditions used bones, and determined it was worth pursuing this ancient knowledge. Bones are not very popular in North America, so Tim and his team developed a bone broth. All bones used are from locally sourced farms. After finding success selling super healthy bone broth, Broya recently launched a bites jerky line in April 2018 that currently offers three different flavors. At Broya, they care about humanity nurturing the body, mind, and spirit. Broya is distributed by Broya Inc., and they are located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
The first review on Broya will focus on a 2.1 ounce/60 gram bag of their mango madness flavored turkey bites. This mango flavor is described as being a flavor-forward combination producing an incredibly tender and sweet profile. The bag was kindly submitted for review by the Operations Manager, Kam Karamchi.
Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Turkey, Honey, Dried Mango*, Garlic Powder, Sea Salt, Paprika, Onion Powder, Cayenne Pepper, Red Pepper Flakes. *Organic
On the whole, turkey is a leaner and healthier choice of meat compared to using beef. These turkey are guaranteed to have been raised ethically, meaning not administered growth hormones and additional antibiotics. These turkey are guaranteed to have at least partial free range to roam about as nature intended. As a result, the highest ingredient rating possible is Excellent (10/10).
Some healthy ingredients added are dried mango, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and red chile peppers. Some people refer to mango as being the King of Fruits.
The sugar level is quite high at 9 grams of sugar per 30 grams of jerky to lose a rating. In fairness, there is no brown or white sugar used. This sugar is exclusively from the local honey sourced from Alberta, and the fruit mangos. The salt level is respectable at 290mg of salt per 30 grams of jerky.
This jerky qualifies to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservative. Instead, sea salt is the main preservative used. With more kudos to Broya, this jerky has no MSG added.

Taste Review
Written by guest jerky reviewer Stéphane Leclerc
The Broya Mango Madness Turkey Bites have an invitingly sweet and fruity aroma.
First off, a sweet and fruity type of flavor introduces these small turkey bites. The sweetness is not overly done and although not conclusive, it may be a sweet fruity flavor of mango. This is quickly followed by some spicy heat and it increases with a second, a third piece and so on. This spiciness somewhat overwhelms the fruitiness of this jerky. The heat is not evenly distributed and some pieces are much spicier than others. Once or twice, my tongue stuck to my palate, my eyes crisscrossed and I quickly reached for my water bottle.
These chopped and formed turkey bites pack a surprisingly good amount of natural turkey flavor and this flavor is reminiscent of sausages. The salt, garlic, onion and paprika are all at mild levels and these bites do have a less than pleasant aftertaste. Overall, an enjoyable blend of flavors and other than the occasional significant spiciness, no single flavor really dominates. There is a surprising kick to this flavor and for the most part, it adds some life to its flavor profile. On a heat scale, the spiciness would rate at 2 out of 5 and can occasionally spike higher. While not construed as criticism per se, we can see how this flavor may be too spicy for some people with little tolerance to spiciness. This flavor could arguably be renamed with a more appropriate or descriptive name such as “Spicy Mango Madness” or something along these lines.
These “bite” sized strips of jerky are small and sliced thick. The texture is soft and tender, they are easy to chew and no oily residue is left on the fingers while handling these “bites”.
Mark said: I found this flavor to have a “sneak up behind you” type of addictiveness. It’s not as though this flavor blows me away but I find myself repeatedly wanting to chew more of these bites.
I cannot really find much fault from a technical perspective and this is a step above for a chopped and formed texture.
Paul also said: “A pleasurable chopped and formed jerky, it is not blowing me away but it is a cut above your typical chopped and formed jerky strip.”
We can then conclude, this is obviously a pleasurable chopped and formed jerky and definitely a cut above the typical chopped and formed jerky strip. We’ve rated the Broya Mango Madness Turkey Jerky an 8/10 taste rating.
This 2.1 ounce/60 gram bag of jerky sells online for $8.99. That works out to $4.28 an ounce, which rates as an expensive price.
