Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky – Sweet BBQ Beef Stick

Sunday, June 7, 2020 Leave a Comment

Bronco Billy's - Sweet BBQ Beef StickStoney Point Farm Market is a family-owned and operated country farmers market with three generations, and over 85 years of experience in providing wholesome goods – primarily fresh cut meats, locally grown produce, and prepared food and specialty items. Plus, Stoney Point Farm Market is 50% woman-owned with an SQF Level 3 USDA facility.

Stoney Point Farm Market takes great pride in having an extremely loyal customer base who appreciates its wide variety of offerings, competitive prices, and friendly service. Their farmer’s markets are conveniently located 1.5 miles southwest of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, on Route 194 South, and in The Markets at Hanover on Broadway in Hanover, PA, less than ten miles away from the Gettysburg National Military Park!

This Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky brand name was trademarked in 2006. Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky was started by Joseph Arcuri, who has passed away a few years ago. Stoney Point Inc., in partnership with his wife, Kathy Arcuri, has expanded and pushed the brand in its current growth, from 50 pounds a week to 10,000 pounds a week.

This Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky brand is advertised to use USDA beef. Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky is distributed under the name of Stoney Point Inc., and they are located in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

The next review on Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky will focus on a 2 ounce/56 gram bag of their Sweet BBQ flavored beef stick. This meat stick was graciously submitted for review by Administrative Assistant, Amanda Fowler.

BRONCO BILLY’S – SWEET BBQ BEEF STICK

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag, I smell the vinegar. This meat stick appears identical to any other meat stick in appearance. The meat stick is soft and chewy, and it leaves no oily residue on your fingers.

The first flavors I encounter are salt, pepper, too much sweet, garlic, bbq (ketchup flavor), as well as faint natural beef.

This meat stick is advertised as sweet bbq, which it is, to a ‘t’, but it is a bit too sweet for my palette. However, if I put my personal bias aside, it is exactly as advertised. Even if it is as advertised, it completely lacks in the “Wow” factor, so I will award a 9/10 and can’t justify the perfect score here. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this Sweet BBQ beef stick flavor from Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the honest taste review. Unlike Paul, I thought that the sweetness level was reasonable for a flavor with sweet in its flavor name. This beef stick does deliver on the sweet bbq flavor, and does provide some ‘wow’ factor. One complaint is the lack of ‘snap’ from the texture when chewing off a bite.”

“Due to COVID-19, the Group of Seven is down to just Paul and me for this review. I was willing to award a 10 taste rating here, where I was surprised that Paul thought that this beef stick was too sweet tasting. Again, a rating reduction is warranted for the lack of snap in the texture. Otherwise, yet another fantastic job by Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky.“

This 2 ounce/56 gram meat stick sells for $1.99 in Stoney Point Farm Market stores, which rates at a cheap price.

Very Good (9/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This non-resealable clear plastic bag is vacuum-sealed, the best way to keep a meat stick fresh tasting. There is a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. The Bronco Billy’s Beef Jerky logo is of the cowboy Yosemite Sam shooting two guns into the sky.

There are no slogans or facts printed on this bag.

Some bag categories missing are no soy allergen alert and no nutrition facts table. Commendably, a phone number is provided for customer inquiries.

Decent (7/10) – Bag Rating
