Ingredient Review
Ingredients: Beef, Soy Sauce (Water, Soybeans, Salt, Alcohol), Green Chile Pepper, Garlic, Sugar, Red Pepper, Seasonings. Allergen Warnings: Soy
The beef used is ethically raised, meaning it is guaranteed to be free of growth hormones and additional antibiotics. Also, the cattle have at least partial free range access to roam about and graze on grass the way nature intended. As a result, the highest ingredient rating awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
The liquid marinade is comprised of only a good brand of gluten-free tamari soy sauce.
There are some healthy ingredients added, such as green chile pepper, garlic, red pepper, and seasonings.
The sugar level is excellent at 0 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is a little high at 370mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our acceptable limit is 350mg of salt or less per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky qualifies to have no sodium nitrite, or any other similar unhealthy preservative added. Admirably, this jerky does qualify to have no MSG added.

STONEY POINT PREMIUM MEAT SNACKS – SOUTHEWEST BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag, I smell what I believe to be soy and bbq, almost like a ketchup smell. The pieces are mostly medium in size, and they are sliced mainly to a medium thickness. The jerky is dry and chewy, and it leaves no oily residue on your fingers.
The first flavor that doesn’t just jump out at me, it leaps emphatically out at me, is the intense (and profoundly delicious) saltiness, at a high level, which may deter some, but I frickin’ LOVE it!! I also taste very mildly sweet, another major selling point, along with generous amounts of onion and garlic, and copious amounts of natural beef. I am also picking up on the strong soy flavor, which works well with the other flavors.
Man oh man, this jerky flavor has me wanting ‘more,’ even though I have a boatload of jerky as it is for this review. D*mn, grab me a drool bucket, this jerky is making my mouth water like Pavlov’s dogs. There’s even fat on some of the strips, which also greatly enhances the flavor of the natural flavor of beef.
<>p>Not sure what Stony Point means by the term ‘Southwest’, but color me bloody well sold, this flavor of jerky has me doing double backflips and multiple somersaults, I am dizzy and delirious with delectable, ultra-desirable morsels of heavenly hash, er, I mean heroin, er, I mean crack, er, I mean jerky. Does this jerky come in 1500 lb drums, 4 drums to a skid? If so, sign me up for a trailer load of them (30 skids per trailer). I’ll be ordering another trailer load in a few weeks. Two thumbs way up!!!👍👍 A stick-your-head-in-a-vat-of-anthrax if you don’t agree with 10/10 gentlemen…
Here is what Mark had to say about this Southwest beef jerky flavor from Stoney Point Premium Meat Snacks: “Thanks Paul for the colorful taste review. I am not sure what a Southwest flavor is also. Very true, the saltiness is at a high level. Too salty for my liking. Also true that the sweetness is at a mildly sweet level. For me anyway, the sweetness tasted out of place as if the sugar was not needed. There is also a little spicy kick present that rates no higher than a 1 out of 4 on the heat scale.”
“Due to COVID-19, we are down to three members of the Group of Seven. Mark M. was not as impressed by awarding an 8 rating due to the strong saltiness. This treat is addictive, no doubt with a great old-fashioned texture, and a strong soy flavor but you need a high tolerance toward salt.”
This 8 ounce/227 gram bag of jerky sells at the Stoney Point Farm Market stores for $13.00, which rates at a pretty cheap price.

Bag Review
This clear resealable bag has labels affixed to the front and back. The Stoney Point Premium Meat Snacks logo has two knives crossed, and pictures of a horse, elk, and wild boar heads. This bag is vacuum-sealed, the best possible way to keep jerky fresh tasting.
There is no slogan printed on this bag. The only fact printed is “Made in USA.”
The only bag categories missing are the bag not being resealable, and no best before date. Commendably, a phone number is provided for customer inquiries. A small blurb is printed about Stoney Point Premium Meat Snacks.
