The beef used here is guaranteed to be ethically raised, meaning free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. These cattle are guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to roam about. As a result, the highest ingredient rating awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.
This only liquid marinade used here is water, although soy sauce may have also been used.
There are healthy ingredients added, such as fresh pepper blend, garlic, fresh ginger, spices, and shellfish,
The sugar level is somewhat at 5 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky to lose a rating. Our preference is 3 grams of sugar or less per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is acceptable at only 210mg of salt per 28 grams of jerky.
This jerky does qualify to have no sodium nitrite or any other similar unhealthy preservatives. Admirably, this jerky qualifies to have no MSG added.

ED’S ROADHOUSE JERKY – HONG KONG STEAK BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag, I smell something sour, possibly vinegar? Not entirely sure. The pieces are generally large in size, and they are sliced reasonably thin. The jerky is a bit tough and dry, just like our forefathers intended, and there is no oily residue left on your fingers.
The first flavors I encounter are salt, pepper, garlic, at an excellent and potent level (as well as the salt), along with a bit of a kick and lots of natural beef. There is fat on the jerky, which remarkably enhances the various flavors in the jerky.
This is where I go off on a tangent. Holy flippin’ crap, a jerky that tastes like this should be under lock and key, for fear that unscrupulous people would steal this jerky and sell it on the black market for a very sizeable profit.
Jerky that tastes as succulent as this one is very tough to come across, and when you do, you hoard it and don’t bloody well share it. ‘Crack In A Bag’ is a very appropriate assessment for this particular flavor. I know I ain’t sharing with anyone, it’s mine, all MINE!! Hands off minions, go get your own Ed’s RoadHousE Jerky Hong Kong steak jerky. It’s likely been sold out for an eternity. I have a massive bucket beside me to catch all the drool emanating as I consume this ridiculously delicious jerky. This jerky even has a tang or a bit of heat to it. It’s the epitome of severely addictive succulent taste. Take a well-deserved bow Ed’s RoadHousE Jerky. I am your latest Hong Kong beef jerky disciple.
Where the hell did all the jerky go to?! (Oops, I ate it all, my bad). How many thumbs does it take to hold up a cow? That’s how many thumbs are way, way, way up for this flavor of jerky. Ed, I’d vote for you as the next president. 😜👍
Here is what Mark had to say about this Hong Kong Steak beef jerky flavor from Ed’s RoadHousE Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the fantastic enthusiastic taste review. Wow, this flavor blew me away also, being a special, special flavor. As mentioned already, what puts this flavor over the top is a strong level of garlic and the amounts of fat that accentuates the natural beef flavor to the nth degree. The overall taste profile is a masterpiece, a true treasure.”
“Normally, as a jerky reviewer, I have very good constraint in saving a few strips before the jerky review is published as the last reminder on how the flavor tastes. Not in this case. My portion was 90% done the first night before I could think straight, being utterly consumed with this flavor. The last few remaining strips were devoured in less than 6 hours the next day.
“Due to COVID-19, we are down to just three members from the Group of Seven. Mark M. was at a no-doubter 10 taste rating also. It is unanimous, a well-deserved Excellent (10/10) taste rating is easily awarded. It would be a criminal offense to say otherwise. A very enthusiastic two thumbs up!!👍👍”
Ed’s RoadHousE Jerky sells online a 4 ounce/113 gram bag of jerky for $13.99. That equates to $3.50 an ounce, which rates at an expensive price.

Bag Review
This clear non-plastic resealable has a label affixed to the front and nothing on the back. This bag is vacuum-sealed, the best way to keep jerky fresh tasting.
A slogan printed on this bag in “Nobody Beats My Meat”. Some facts written are “All Natural”, “No Preservatives or Additives”, and “Made in USA”.
Some bag categories missing are a bar code, jerky weight not stated in grams, a USDA inspected stamp, and a best before date.
