SLIM JIM – TABASCO SEASONED BEEF PORK MECHANICALLY SEPARATED CHICKEN STICK
Written by guest meat stick reviewer Paul Rekker
When I bite open the bag I smell the Tabasco sauce. That’s about it. It is very thin but extremely long. It’s the longest pepperette (meat stick) I’ve ever seen. It is a bit oily, leaving a slight oily residue on your fingers.
When I bite into the meat stick (pepperette), I immediately pick up on the salt. It is not overboard but at a solid level, pepper, definitely the Tabasco sauce, along with lighter garlic and even lighter sweet, an awesome combination. This meat stick is ridiculously tasty, as well as very spicy, without overdoing it. A delicious culinary treat, enjoy. To me, a 9, or maybe even a 10/10. Gentlemen?

The Slim Jim – Tabasco Seasoned Meat Stick flavor is fantastic. This meat stick is amazingly flavorful. The spiciness and salt are at an excellent level. The acidity and smokiness are also great, as they brighten and accentuate the flavors.
The Slim Jim – Tabasco Seasoned Meat Stick’s texture, meat, and casing are a little disappointing, as I don’t get a clean bite feel. This deficiency impacts the depth and richness of the flavor profile.
Since my early childhood, I’ve had a lifelong love affair with Tabasco sauce. This shortcoming does not really align with the stellar reputation of the Tabasco Brand. Tabasco is known as an outstanding and very selective company with high standards. The superior quality of their ingredients and products has been the standard of this well-beyond century-old tradition, and I was hoping for more.
I’d rate this meat stick 9/10 Taste Rating, and with a leaner and tighter product or especially in a solid jerky, this would be a slam dunk 12/10 Taste Rating.
Here is what Mark had to say about this Tabasco Seasoned meat stick from Slim Jim: “Thanks Stéphane and Paul for the enthusiastic taste reviews. It is hard to argue with either of you here. The Tabasco sauce comes across well, providing a decent level of spiciness. Not mentioned is that this meat stick has a decent ‘snap’ to the texture.”
“As for a complaint, the texture is quite greasy, where Stéphane is correct in that this meat stick does not have a clean bite feel to it. It is unanimous that all three of us award a Very Good (9/10) taste rating.”
This 1 ounce/28 gram bag costs $1.39. That rates as an average price.
