Smokehouse Jerky Co. – Garlic Pepper Beef Jerky

Wednesday, March 13, 2019 Leave a Comment

Smokehouse Jerky Co. - Garlic Pepper Beef Brisket JerkyThe Smokehouse Jerky Co. brand name was launched in 2008. On January 2/2017, Franco and his wife Patti Fonseca acquired Smokehouse Jerky Co. from Trent Levinson and his wife Barbie. Franco has since added some new flavors, and they have a new web site design. All Smokehouse Jerky Co. jerky is made in small batches. Tender Heifer Snack Co. are always looking for new distributors across the United States, and they offer private label services, most notably for Knott’s Berry Farm. This jerky is manufactured and distributed by Tender Heifer Snack Co., and they are based out of Beaumont, California.

The next review on Smokehouse Jerky Co. will focus on a 3 ounce/84 gram bag of their Garlic Pepper flavored beef brisket jerky. This flavor is described as using lean beef paired with their special garlic marinade, where you will definitely feel its strong earthy and pungent taste with every bite; it even has a sprinkle of garlic chunks! Smokehouse Jerky Co. originally made this flavor for Garlic World in Gilroy, California, and everyone loved it so much they added it to their inventory as well. The jerky was kindly submitted for review by one of the owners, Patti Fonseca.

Taste Review

Written by guest jerky reviewer Stéphane Leclerc

The lovely “garlicky” aroma of the Smokehouse Jerky Co Garlic Peppered Beef Brisket Jerky is an undeniable promise to a special treat and an outstanding experience.

One bite, you’re in Heaven. Mark and I were spellbound by the kicked up levels of garlic and cracked black pepper. This flavor has tons of outstandingly fresh, pungent and earthy taste of garlic. Its flavor profile elaborates on soy/tamari, a subtle sweetness and light saltiness. This jerky is well balanced with a bright splash of lemon juice and rich natural beef flavor followed with lovely smokiness in the background.

It should also be noted, more of the awesome goodness lies at the bottom of each bag. It’s an absolute delight and adding a sprinkle to each bite puts this jerky flavor right over the moon.

These jerky strips are medium and sliced to a medium thickness. The texture is soft, tender and dry. It requires a reasonable amount of chewing action.

The harmony between Garlic and Cracked Black Pepper in the Smokehouse Jerky Co Garlic Peppered Beef Brisket Jerky is a match made in heaven. Every black pepper and garlic aficionado will certainly fall head over heels in love with this magically delightful masterpiece.

We were moved and we extend this garlic pepper flavor the highest praises known to mankind. We can only wish Smokehouse Jerky Co Garlic Peppered Beef Brisket Jerky was sold in Canada and we’d be standing in line every day to buy some of this amazing jerky.

A Real Slam Dunk, Grand Slam, Thank you Mam! …a Home Run and a Zero no Brainer 10/10 Taste Rating. Cheers!

This 3 ounce/84 gram bag of jerky sells online for 7.99. That works out to $2.67 an ounce, which rates as an average price. Commendably, free shipping is offered on all orders over $25.

Bag Review

This resealable plastic bag has a label affixed on the front, and nothing on the back. The label has a fairly detailed picture of a wooden shack with a “Jerky Co.” sign, and a picture of a smiling garlic clove.

Some facts printed on this bags are “Old Fashion Recipe”, “No Added MSG”, “No Added Preservatives”, “Made in U.S.A.”, “Old Fashion”, and “Brisket”.

All bag categories are covered but one. There is no blurb printed about Smokehouse Jerky Co. or Tender Heifer Snack Co.

The bag listed at the bottom is also a 1oz bag submitted for review.

Decent (7/10) – Bag Rating
