In 2018, current CEO James Napier, being a knee down amputee, was determined not to let that disability affect him. James reached out to a friend, fellow patriot, serial entrepreneur, and current COO Lance Wood. Together, while eating some special hot sauces at a local barbecue, James thought that he could sell these hot sauces. In collaboration with their wives, The Patriot Brands LLC was launched shortly afterward. James then resurrected his dream of selling jerky. Teaming up with trusted FDA certified processor Grill To Kill with their decades of experience manufacturing jerky, this The Patriot Brands Jerky was officially launched. Late in 2018, The Patriot Brands LLC introduced meat sticks to their line of products for sale. This jerky is distributed by The Patriot Brands LLC, and they are located in Cuba, Missouri.
The next review on The Patriot Brands Jerky will focus on a 1/2 pound/16 ounce/454 gram bag of their Carolina Reaper Fire flavored pork beef stick. This flavor is described as being made with their own Tears of Freedom Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce, where these spicy meat sticks will have you crying Freedom. The bag was graciously submitted for review by COO Lance Wood.
Ingredient Review
Pork, Beef, Water, Salt, Spices, Dextrose, Garlic Powder, Lactic Acid, Hot Sauce (contains Carolina Reaper Pepper, Habanero Chili, Vinegar, Molasses & Salt), Sodium Nitrite
The beef and pork used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
There are some healthy ingredients added such as spices and garlic powder. The heat is achieved from Carolina reaper peppers and habanero chili peppers. Hot peppers are healthy if eaten in moderation, which flushes toxins out of the body.
There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the exact sugar and salt levels are unknown.
These meat sticks do not qualify to be sodium nitrite free, as sodium nitrite is used outright as a preservative to lose a rating. Commendably, this flavor qualifies to have no MSG added.

Taste Review
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
The beef/pork stick, or pepperette, as it will be called going forward, is very similar to any other pepperette. It is soft and chewy, with a solid casing around it causing a snap.
Here Mark’s take on this flavor: “This Carolina Reaper Fire flavor was shared between five people. It was unanimous, this is a delicious tasting flavor. It takes a good 10-15 seconds for the heat to creep up on you, causing a great burn in your throat but not on your tongue. Some could handle the heat better than others. It is impressive that The Patriot Brands Jerky uses their very own Carolina Reaper Tears of Freedom Hot Sauce for these meat sticks, which makes you want to purchase this hot sauce online ASAP.”
The first flavors I detect are salt, pepper, garlic, vinegar, and a solid, mouth watering kick. This (very) spicy kick is NOT for the squeamish. Prepare to sweat…profusely. The Carolina Reaper has returned with his skeleton horse, his scythe and his evil grin. He has come to claim his innocent victims, those who just cannot survive his nefariously scorching meat sticks, destined to melt the weak into molten lava, to drip down into the crevices to never be heard of or seen again.
All kidding aside, these ridiculously hot pepperettes are da bomb, and for those of us who have copper palates, bring it on The Patriots Brand, you have succeeded in making disciples out of us mere mortals. Kudos, a flame throwing 10/10 it is, let’s all “melt for meat”…👍👍
A 1/2 pound/16 ounce/454 gram bag currently sells online for sale at $6.99. That works out to 44 cents an ounce, which rates as a very cheap price. Free shipping is offered on online orders of $35, and includes a free pocket Constitution!

Bag Review
This non-resealable bag has a label affixed to the front, and nothing on the back. The Patriots Brands logo resembles a dog tag issued by the military.
There are no slogans or facts printed on this bag.
Some missing bag categories are a blurb printed about The Patriot Brands Jerky or this Carolina Reaper Fire flavor, the weight stated in ounces or grams, a nutrition facts table, and a best before date. A lot no. is provided, which could translate to a best before date.
