In 2018, current CEO James Napier, being a knee down amputee, was determined not to let that disability affect him. James reached out to a friend, fellow patriot, serial entrepreneur, and current COO Lance Wood. Together, while eating some special hot sauces at a local barbecue, James thought that he could sell these hot sauces. In collaboration with their wives, The Patriot Brands LLC was launched shortly afterward selling hot sauces.
James then resurrected his dream of selling jerky. Teaming up with trusted FDA certified processor Kill to Grill with their decades of experience manufacturing jerky, this The Patriot Brands Jerky was officially launched. In 2018, The Patriot Brands LLC introduced meat sticks to their line of products for sale. This jerky is distributed by The Patriot Brands LLC, and they are located in Cuba, Missouri.
The next review on The Patriot Brands Jerky will focus on a 3 ounce/84 gram bag of their Strawberry Wine flavored beef jerky. This flavor is described as using Strawberry Wine that has a very distinguished taste, which will leave you only wanting more. The bag was graciously submitted for review by COO Lance Wood.
Ingredients: Beef, Vinegar, Sugar, Honey Powder (Cane Sugar, Honey), Salt, Hydrolyzed Soy Protein (Caramel Color), Dextrose, Natural Hickory Smoke Flavor (Maltodextrin), Spices, Natural Spice Extractives, Sodium Nitrite, FD&C Red #3, Strawberry Wine (Yeast, Sulfites). Allergen Warnings: Soy
The beef used is not guaranteed to be free of growth hormones or additional antibiotics. Also, the beef is not guaranteed to have at least partial free range access to graze on grass. As a result, the highest ingredient rating that can be awarded is a Good (8/10) rating.
The liquid marinade used here consists of just healthy vinegar, and strawberry wine.
There is no nutrition facts table provided. As a result, the sugar and salt levels are unknown.
The unhealthy artificial color FD&C Red #3 is used to lose a rating.
This jerky does not qualify to have no sodium nitrite added, as sodium nitrite is used outright to lose a rating. To a lesser degree, vinegar also acts as a preservative. This jerky does not qualify to have no MSG added, as the cheap highly processed flavor enhancer hydrolyzed soy protein is used to lose another rating.

THE PATRIOT BRANDS JERKY – STRAWBERRY WINE BEEF JERKY
Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker
When I open the bag, I definitely smell the strawberry. There are basically two strips, sliced to a medium thickness. The jerky is soft and dry, and it is relatively easy to chew.
When I bite into the jerky I am met with the unmistakable flavor of strawberry, where the flavor is definitely present, but it is not overpowering, which is a good thing. It is blending well with the other flavors, such as salt, light sweet, garlic, onion and also a fair amount of natural beef.
I’m not so sure that I am tasting wine, but it is possible. There seems to be a light, almost wine-y flavor in the background.
Bottom line, I was somewhat skeptical about this flavor going into the review, but now that I’ve actually tasted it, it is far tastier than I would have imagined. While The Patriot Brands has not, to this point I believe, led us astray, I was still apprehensive, but not anymore.
The Patriot Brands, take yet another bow, you make good jerky. I feel like those little kids used to say in the TV commercials back in the day, ‘Mr. Christie, you make good cookies.’
Well now it’s ‘Mr. Patriot Brands, you make good jerky.’ Cheers, a solid Very Good (9/10) taste rating.
Here is what Stéphane had to say about Paul’s taste review: “I am in line with Paul’s great review; I really enjoyed The Patriot Brands Strawberry Wine Beef Jerky. The fruity strawberry wine flavor is awesome and the splash of vinegar balances well the sweetness.”
“This is definitely an unusual flavor and it works really well. If I could add my grain of salt, I would certainly suggest a few more turn of freshly cracked black pepper to make the fruitiness pop and send The Patriot Brands Strawberry Wine Beef Jerky into the stratosphere.”
“I’d rate The Patriot Brand Strawberry Wine Beef Jerky a 9/10 taste rating.”
Paul’s response to Stéphane: “I agree with you Stephane, a little more pepper would have solidified a 10/10 rating with me as well.”
Stéphane’s response to Paul: “Great minds think alike! I also like a little touch of cayenne, not for the spiciness but just to awaken the ol’ taste buds. I find cayenne is like fairy dust!”
Here is what Mark had to say about this Strawberry Wine beef jerky flavor from The Patriot Brands Jerky: “Thanks Paul and Stéphane for the entertaining taste review. Agreed that the flavor of strawberry (not so sure about a strawberry wine flavor) comes across fairly well. Apart from the noticeable acidity, not a lot else stood out for me with this flavor. I was at a Good (8/10) taste rating, but could be swayed to a 9.”
A 3 ounce/85 gram bag currently sells online for sale at $5.99. That works out to $2.00 an ounce, which rates as a cheap price. Free shipping offered on online orders of $40 and a free pocket Constitution!

This clear plastic resealable bag has a label affixed to the front, and nothing on the back. With The Patriot Brands LLC being so patriotic, it is no surprise that the colors of the USA flag red, white and blue are used.
There are no slogans or facts printed on this bag.
The majority of bag categories are covered here. Missing is a blurb printed about The Patriot Brands Jerky and this Strawberry Wine flavor. Also missing is a nutrition facts table, and a best before date, but a sticker on the back is likely the batch number, which could translate to a best before date.
