Paleo Beef Jerky - Original Beef JerkyStoney Point Farm Market is a family-owned and operated country farmers market with three generations. With over 85 years of experience in providing wholesome goods – primarily fresh cut meats, locally grown produce, and prepared food and specialty items. Plus, Stoney Point Farm Market is 50% woman-owned with an SQF Level 3 USDA facility.

Stoney Point Farm Market takes great pride in having an extremely loyal customer base who appreciates its wide variety of offerings, competitive prices, and friendly service. Their farmer’s markets are conveniently located 1.5 miles southwest of Littlestown, Pennsylvania, on Route 194 South, and in The Markets at Hanover on Broadway in Hanover, PA, and less than ten miles away from the Gettysburg National Military Park!

This Paleo Beef Jerky was created to replicate what our hunter-gatherer ancestors ate. Cave people from the Paleolithic era would have eaten: 100% grass-fed beef, vegetables, fruit, seeds, nuts, herbs, and spices. Stoney Point Inc. kept this in mind to get you back in touch with our ancient ancestors. Paleo Beef Jerky is distributed under the name of Stoney Point Inc., and they are located in Littlestown, Pennsylvania.

The first review on Paleo Beef Jerky will focus on a 2.85 ounce/80.8 gram bag of their original flavored beef jerky. This jerky was kindly submitted for review by Amanda Fowler.

Ingredient Review

Paleo Beef Jerky - Original Beef JerkyThe beef used is ethically raised, meaning it is guaranteed to be free of growth hormones and additional antibiotics. The cattle have at least partial free range access to roam about and graze on grass the way nature intended. As a result, the highest ingredient rating awarded is a Very Good (9/10) rating.

Paleo Beef Jerky - Original Beef JerkyThe liquid marinade is comprised of only healthy honey.

Some healthy ingredients are added such as black pepper, paprika, chili flakes, and onion powder.

The sugar level is adequate at 2 grams of sugar per 28 grams of jerky. The salt level is acceptable at 350mg of salt per 28 grams.

Taste Review

PALEO BEEF JERKY – ORIGINAL BEEF JERKY

Written by guest jerky reviewer Paul Rekker

When I open the bag, I am met with a myriad of scents, including sweet (honey), juice (not sure why), I believe I am smelling the paprika, if I didn’t have the ingredient list in front of me, it would have been the “mystery” ingredient and natural beef. The pieces of jerky are relatively small in size, and they are sliced rather thin as well. The jerky is soft(ish) and dry, and it leaves no oily residue on your fingers.

The first flavors I encounter are salt, at a delectable level, sweet, but not too sweet, pepper, garlic, onion, I think I am detecting the paprika flavor, natural beef, and some heat as well, at a very favorable level. Not too hot, but still hot enough to pique my interest. You can see the chili flakes on the jerky.

I have to say, this is a delicious blend of various ingredients, no one ingredient taking center stage, just a nice, well-balanced mixture of tasty flavors. It’s only at the precipice of hitting the “Wow!!” factor, but possibly falling just a tad shy. Mind you, I have almost 3 oz of this jerky, so I will perhaps revisit this review later if things change.

The heat level is increasing as I consume more pieces, I believe I’ll readdress it right now. With no complaints, and an unexpected decent level of heat, I will award this flavor a 10/10, or a high 9/10, I am easily swayable either way here. But two thumbs skyward for this tasty treat. Gentlemen?

Here is what Mark had to say about this original beef jerky flavor from Paleo Beef Jerky: “Thanks Paul for the great taste review. It is hard to disagree with anything you mentioned. I was quite impressed with this paleo jerky, with a focus on the natural beef flavor. Some strips have a noticeable amount of fat that accentuates the natural beef flavor in a special way.

Almost every time we review a jerky advertised as paleo, it contains paprika. No different here with the paprika, which is a welcome change with the absence of soy sauce. Add in the onion, garlic, black pepper, honey, and chili flakes, you get a well-balanced flavor that tastes wholesome.”

Due to COVID-19, we are down to just Paul and me for this review. I cannot think of a single issue with this jerky. With myself at a 10 taste rating and Paul at a solid 9 rating, possibly a 10, this paleo jerky earns a well-deserved Excellent (10/10) taste rating.

This 2.85 ounce/80.8 gram bag of jerky sells for $7.99, which works out to $2.80 an ounce. That rates at an average price.

Excellent (10/10) – Taste Rating

Bag Review

This white-colored resealable has everything printed directly to the bag itself on both sides. There are no labels attached. There are high resolution pictures of beef, garlic, chili pepper, and onions.

There is no slogan printed on this bag. Some facts printed on this bag are “Made in USA”, and “Keto Approved”.

All bag categories are covered with this bag. There is an excellent blurb printed on the back about paleo jerky. You are encouraged to follow them on Facebook. Commendably, a phone number is provided for customer inquiries.

Excellent (10/10) – Bag Rating
